Great advice on mounting locations. So many people also mount them next to where their airbags would deploy in an accident, which would send things flying at blazing fast speeds and potentially injuring them when otherwise they wouldn't be hurt. Good advice for sure. Just ran across your channel because of this video; fellow Arkansan here!

I agree 100%. I hate drilling and love the magnets. A problem I found is in mounting the magnets. The vinyl portion of the dash does not have a very good adhesion to its subsurface. The weight of the phone or tablet will start to separate the vinyl from its base. Mount the magnets onto something solid and there will be no problems. Great video.

Hey man your videos are awesome - thank you for posting this content! I was wondering what you used under the phone mount base to level it off since on the tacoma where you mount it over the vent to get the phone our far enough you need to stick it a bit forward and it leaves a space open under the mount in the rear of it. For your tablet it looks like you stuck something under it. THanks man !

Hey thanks man! I actually just found a little piece of plastic that I cut to shape to fill the gap. That made it flush with the plastic bezel of the dash to where the mount stuck on both evenly.

Do the magnets for the tablet and / or phone come with the mount? Can you get extra magnets for the devices?

Yes. The magnet actually sits inside the mount face. But the box should also include 3 different sized thin metal plates that you stick to the back of your phone or tablet. And yes I went on Amazon and bought more plates so I could attach them to additional devices. Very affordable.

Great video. But I have a question about your 4X4. Are you more confident (reliability wise) after moving to a Toyota product? I am in the research phase and are considering Toyota vs Jeep. I like the Wrangler but at the price point I am limited to, I feel Toyota’s (4runners, GX470, LC etc.) are a more reliable choice. From what I’ve read, Jeeps in the $10k to $15k range are “worn out” and need expensive repairs to keep them running. Thanks.
@ArkansasOffroad4 жыл бұрын
Yes, definitely more confident moving to a Toyota. My Jeep was amazing, but it was becoming super unreliable on and off the trail. Id generally say the more stock the vehicle, the more reliable as far as buying used.
