The hens scratch it out too. I used it. They transformed it into loose, dirty, pieces of straw. They will NOT stay whole.

I am sorry to hear that happened. I’ve used various brands that were not as good in the past but the ones I am using now I really like! I’ve also found that you need to have deeper nesting boxes, if your nesting boxes are too shallow it makes it really easy for the chickens to scratch out the nesting material. An easy solution is to either make your nesting boxes a little bit deeper or by putting a 3 to 4 inch board in front so that there is a barrier to prevent them from scratching the material out.

So do my girls, even tried Hemp anti got thrown out. Does anyone out there have a sure nesting solution?

Kind of looks similar to Spanish moss, I wonder if that could be an option? We have TONS of it in our area.

Hi Robbie, I'm sure you could try spanish moss but I imagine the hens will scratch it out of the box. These liners work really well because the material is glued to a paper underneath that helps hold it all together. But anything is worth a shot especially if you have a large supply of it😊
