Great tractor, I would do fold down chain link fencing to stop predators from digging under it. Fold it up to move and drop it back down. We have 8-10 coyotes that run through our property every few days so definitely need to do something. They dug under the neighbors stationary chicken coop and killed them all a few years ago in like 20-30mins

Your new design for a Cornish Camper is superb. I like the drop down security panels - makes a lot of sense too. With so few tenants now you could move that camper every 3 days -labor saver for you. Thank you.

I was just thinking about the hose-around-cord trick when you told you have done exactly that😂😆 A piece of old hose also works wonders for buckets with wire handles. The tiny plastic bit on the handle is not that comfortable, and it seems to be the first thing to crumble away anyway.

I made a greenhouse out of one of those carports before and it held up pretty well even in high winds, but it was tied down to trees. This is nice because it sits lower and is tied to the weight of the wooden frame as well. I can see it working good. I've literally been all in on getting some chicken tractors built and was seriously considering a Salatin style one but I definitely like this idea so thanks! I think you could also consider a longer corner brace but up higher at the next joint so it wouldn't hinder the chickens space. Thanks again for the idea! 🤙🏼

I built the same thing but left the normal height. It's a chicken house with roost and all. Added bracing for top to hold rain snow etc. I got little over 800 tied up in it. I got 80 chickens in it. They roost on rafters etc. Plenty big. They free range during day.

Could you take that angle iron an turn it to face into the dirt. This will keep you wood still straight but also slice into the ground closing gaps as well anchoring a bit. Might leave little groves but nothing that walking on it won't fix

Hello! If there are long periods of rain, for example 4-5 days, and the pasture is soaked, how do we keep the chickens from getting wet and sick while in the chicken tractor? If we don't have a dry shed built nearby, is there a solution related to the construction of the chicken tractor?

I vote for naming it the CORNISH KINGDOM #1! That is awesome! And the pipe to keep them moving without getting caught underneath is genius! We're thinking of moving towards this vice our small chicken tractor & chicken run around our garden. Keep the amazing vids coming. We're learning SO much about our fairly new Kune Kunes, too! Thanks for all that you put into making your knowledge available to us! April & Tom (Wisconsin)

Hello my friend. I send you my love and greetings from Turkey. Your chicken coop is very beautiful, I congratulate you and wish you to use your coop well and beautifully. I tried to watch your video with Turkish subtitles. However, due to translation errors, I could not understand the measurements correctly. Could you please write me the width, length and height of the chicken coop in meters? I wish you a nice night.

Hey John, I have a question. There is a chicken tractor setup down the road from me. It doesn't seem like they move it often enough cause it looks a little nasty when I go by. The chickens look healthy, but I was wondering if it affects the taste of the meat if they are left on that manure too long? Your "Meat Mobile" looks awesome, but then you always do such a good job with your builds. Thanks for sharing tell Jamie, Brooklyn, and Isaiah I missed them today ❣❣ Blessings always, g.
@KCFarms
@KCFarms 2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if it would change the flavor but I wouldn’t want to eat something that live it’s life in its own manure. Another reason we move them so often is so they have access to fresh grass and bugs. Good to hear from you again Gail!

Definitely difficult to turn with chickens in it we just started doing larger track type paths instead of turning and coming straight back up next to the previous path. Hope that makes sense

Yes, please do a hot wire or fencing around the coop. I just recently watched another homestead video where they even had chicken wire under the tarp and the whole flock was destroyed one night when something tore through the tarp and chicken wire to get in. Devastating. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rp-vg4Oji7-CZsk. Better Together Homestead. About 20 minutes into the video they show the damage. Their video from Sep 16th
