Thank you guys so much for Honoring Christine McVie ❤️ Yesterday the music world took a HUGE hit with her passing ! I've been a huge Fleetwood Mac fan since I was 12 and I'm now 61 ... RIP 🙏 😢

I listen to this and tear up again... You are so correct. I am a bit surprised at the outpouring and grief. She was always so understated and under appreciated... or so I thought. I've loved her since 1977 and, as silly as it sounds, thought she would be with us forever. RIP Christine... RIP Fleetwood Mac... the chain has broken.

@@rff2552... I've been honored to see Fleetwood Mac a couple times in my life and on my 34th birthday I was lucky enough to have front row seats and back stage passes to party with Stevie Nicks at the house of blues in West Hollywood ! She autographed my Street Angel CD cover ! Can't ask for a better Birthday !!

I never realized that. Did you realize that this Transatlantic Group was, effectively, Fleetwood Mac 2, as Mick Fleetwood and John McVie were originally in "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac" until the all 3 guitarists left, around the same time around 1970 due to LSD, Drink, and joining a Californian Cult respectively? :)

Saw Fleetwood Mac live in Chicago in the late 70's. They were fantastic! When Christine performed this, you could have heard a pin drop. We all sat enthralled by her rich smoky voice, and the pure beauty of this song. I'm sure she is singing with the angels now! RIP Christine McVie, and thank you for sharing your immense talent with us.

Thank you for this. I have tears streaming down my face. Christine McVie had the most purely angelic voice. Every member of Fleetwood Mac brought something to the band: Stevie brought the mystical, Lindsay brought the music, John kept the beautiful bass line, Mick was the fearless leader, and Christine was the SOUL of the band. Godspeed, Songbird. Forever in our hearts and her melodies in our souls. RIP. 😇

This song was a staple song played at funerals in England. Sad that all these years later it’s played as her tribute song. She was the sweetest, softest songbird out there. Her songs were always about love, not sex. Her songs added the perfect pause or rest points on Fleetwood albums. Her song “Warm Ways” on the Rumours album still makes me blush in its honesty about her first time “becoming a woman tonight”…unable to sleep because of his “warm ways”. God bless her. Oh! She also was the one to calm the crowd when Mick Fleetwood was unable to perform. He had a temp of 104…the band was in shock with no backup plan…it was chaos and the crowd started getting loud and annoyed. Christine just walked out, said Mick had to be rushed to the ER, and then went to her piano and just started playing softly. The crowd calmed down. The Lindsey came out with a stool and guitar and the two just sang softly while plans to send everyone home began to formulate. As it turned out, one of the “Roadies” agreed to play drums for one long song. The band gathered and played the song and gave the drummer a hand for trying to fill Mick’s boots. She was a rock in sugar cookie coating. 😭🤧👍👏🙏❤️

When Stevie was young and had her doubts, Christine removed her layer from a group song, and then had her listen to both versions, proving that their group each had an important layer. Many people overlooked Christine's layers, it's easy to see that when you hear a solo performance from her, what her impact also meant to that group. In an era where women weren't known for rock, she and Stevie took over a man's band and made it their own, Christine kept Stevie grounded, and that was more groundbreaking than anyone can put into words. Fleetwood Mac is my mom's favorite group, so I grew up with them, Christine was my favorite member and when I realized that she was the one singing my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs, I felt horrible for not knowing more about this wonderful woman, so I researched her entire career, and shortly after she rejoined Fleetwood Mac. The Lord works in mysterious ways, and I pray that the songbird is enjoying the outpouring of love for the music she left behind. Rest in Heaven, Christine McVie!!

If this song isn't featured in her memorial service, it would be a travesty. I've cried more in the last two days than I thought I would but I loved her dearly. Might sound silly to some but as a fan since the 70's and I was about eight years old, her music has featured heavily in my life, through the good and bad. I think this is the most beautiful love song ever written. It's obviously sung from the heart describing the human condition and the emotional need and longing as social beings for unconditional love and acceptance both in providing that love to somebody else and in receiving that love from someone else. Christine sung it with such an angelic tone and an enchanting piano piece that brings tears to your eyes. For many people this song would be a real roller-coaster of emotions depending on your lived experiences. Sad that Christine is no longer with us, but she has left behind a lifetime of providing joy and happiness to the world through her musical talent which will live on to be enjoyed by future generations. RIP Christine McVie.

I love this song so much. It was actually my wedding song. I heard it in a jewellery store that I was working in when I first met my husband and thinking it would be a good wedding song and then remembered it when we got engaged 8 years later. His aunt sang it and she just sent me a Songbird video today in memory of Christine McVie RIP special lady ❤️

RIP Christine McVie, I have been lucky enough to see Fleetwood Mac twice, she was such a great Artist. When being interviewed she was so modest yet so talented!😢💖

I've always loved 'Songbird' since a dear friend passed away some years ago, but listening to it once again, it is like a gospel song. Simply beautiful ❤️

You owe it to yourselves to listen to her huge catalog of music. You will wonder... WHY was she not bigger than she actually was? You will be amazed at the talent and the extraordinary voice. Christine was not heralded enough.

Not uncommon for FWM to end the encore of their concert with this gem. Must have been a spectacle, thousands of people trying to find their way out of the venue with tears in their eyes. I have always thought this angel was the soul of FWM. RIP Chrisine. You are loved by so, so ,many people. TY for what you left us.
