Her song "Edge of Seventeen." Is about Tom Petty's wife. Whom she asked... when did they meet? She answers with her thick southern drawl...At the age of seventeen. It's one hell of a banger, and a great song. It truly shows her vocals in that one. Yes Mel. She is the lead singer/songwriter of the group Fleetwood Mac. Great reaction to two legends of rock & roll. Tom is no longer with us. May he rest in peace.
@keithosmond57303 жыл бұрын
Well, one of the lead singers/songwriters... In the most famous line-up, Lindsay Buckingham and Christine McVie were also lead singers/songwriters. And the other two also played instruments. Nothing against Stevie, (who I had a crush on in my teens) but credit where credit is due...
@andrewburch16713 жыл бұрын
The title only came from that conversation. The song lyrics were written after John Lennon was killed and her Uncle died. She was heavily influenced by her grief for her uncle and her boyfriends grief for John Lennon. So it's not about Tom Petty's wife.

Yep, written by Tom Petty and Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell. Another female rocker you ought to check out is Chrissie Hynde who is the founder of The Pretenders. She is a great singer and songwriter who toured with Stevie Nicks awhile back. I’d start with their song “Brass In Pocket” which was a big hit for them. Then “Back On The Chain Gang” (a nod to Sam Cooke’s song “Chain Gang”), “Message Of Love”, and “Kid” to start with. Their first album is one of the greatest debut albums ever, by the way.
