What's the size of your rectangle cookie cutter?

I believe this is around 4x2.5 or so. I have cutter that's 4x3 so I use that, but cut some off the edge so it wasn't so wide.

Then you really are not doing them, kinda like the tree.. We all know (well I know) where that Xmas tree is from.. LOL.. so just the top part of them starting to show and thats it??

Oh Stephanie!!! I love love love the tree.. I have done 2 of them so far. Getting ready to make a bunch of xmas cookies for work potluck and then ship 2 dozen to the mom in law for her Xmas party.. Please keep the videos coming, I love them. what is happening to my icing when on a few larger surfaces the icing sinks in spots, now it is not happening to all of them just a few. I have been doing the extra sqigle lines under the flood, but it still happening on some? suggestions?

So Fun! glad you are enjoying the designs! Also, I was thinking, I wonder if maybe there's not enough flood on your cookie, wonder if that is causing that (other than drying while covered and not in the open). Or is it really humid where you are, sometime that effects the cookies as well!

I tried my hand at some of your designs and some of my own designs using your instructions and methods. I have been decorating cookies for decades, but have never done it using these techniques. I am amazed at how difficult this was and how precise you are! I think that my outline consistency was a little stiff. I had a hard time with the outline not sticking to the cookie. I also had a hard time with making small berries with the icing forming a peak rather than a ball. The scribe is my best friend! Cutting the hole in the bag with sharp scissors is so important, as is cutting the right size hole. I did have a hard time with icing curling on me as I was trying to decorate with the outline icing. I can see that I really need to practice a lot! I have about 12 dozen more cookies to decorate, so I should be a pro by the time they're done; either that or I will have lost my marbles!

I'm so glad you gave it a try using different techniques, sometimes it's fun to try new things. There's a bit of a learning curve, and you're right, your icing was maybe just a bit too stiff if it wasn't sticking well to the cookie. sometimes that happens to me too, and if it's really giving me trouble then I'll add a touch of water and mix it and rebag my icing. Getting the right consistency is the hardest part!

@@LittleCookieCo you're not going to believe this but I hid the tray of iced cookies in my over while my housekeepers were here and my husband thought he was being helpful and turned on the oven, burning all the iced cookies. Needless to say I have another decorating opportunity today.

Oh no!!! This is why I never kept cookies in my oven or dried them in my oven. I forgot about them a couple times so never again! I'm sure your husband feels terrible!
