I've had all the expensive /fancy lighters. They do a good job and look nice. But the paint eventually wears off . Or they don't last. For 6.99 get yourself a vertigo 3 flame torch lighter . Good pinpoint flame, they last forever and if they break most cigarshops will exchange no questions asked and if they don't well it was 6.99
@ARCSTREAMS Жыл бұрын
why would a cigar shop give you a free lighter for a broken one?
@VictorPaulDiaz Жыл бұрын
@@ARCSTREAMS Warranty. Most Fancy lighters ( Colibri, Xicar, etc...) come with Lifetime warranty but you have to deal with packing it & cover the shipping. With the cheap Vertigo you don't have to worry about any of that they just swap them. As for why, Part of the warranty & I imagine keeps cigar shop customers happy and coming back. I'm sure the Vertigo company reimburses the shop. But like I said They never fail

Does it last, I would assume so? I tried to use the damned Dollar Store torch lighters and bought butane but every time I need a refill seems the thing craps out of me. I've taken them apart and adjusted the little flame adjuster and was only able to fix those types one time. Basically they are disposable. I wanted one like this that I can at least go through my can of butane. lol

@Hunting Wolf you won't be disappointed. My original is still going strong. I refill it once a week or so depending on how often I smoke, and have never had a problem. Matter of fact, the "dull" punch, still works well enough. It could use a light sharpening but doesn't really need it. I'm happy with it.

The trick lighting a pipe with a torch is not to touch the flame to the tobacco, bring it just close enough to get a smoulder that way you avoid damaging the flavour, even if I'm lighting a cigarette, a torch lighter is the best, it can get windy here and hiding under your jacket is a pain. I rarely smoke, mostly just use my ecig now, but a good lighter is a must have item!

Nothing beats a Zippo, cause even butane enthusiasts can use one by popping a Thunderbird or Z-Plus butane insert in, either soft flame or torch. This way you can have an heirloom-quality lighter that you cherish, such as a beautiful solid sterling case or whatever. Designs on Zippos are endless and custom ones are everywhere. I prefer a soft flame, and since it appears today's Zippo fluid does not impart any taste, I use it in my '58, 14k Zippo. No, i am not affiliated with the company in any way, but i do appreciate an heirloom lighter that i can admire and enjoy, and it's guaranteed forever. Why not have a lighter that you enjoy as much as your cigar?

@OscarHernandez-vy7nm3 жыл бұрын
Butane lighters are not the best lighters for cigars, it's actually one of the worst options. If you're new to cigars please don't use them you'll enjoy your cigar even more.
@rachelle1 Жыл бұрын
What do you recommend using? Thanks
@OscarHernandez-vy7nm Жыл бұрын
@@rachelle1 You can use any lighter even butane to "burn" the foot of the cigar but do not suck on a cigar if there is anything but wood at the end of it. Whether you use matches or "virutas" which are wooden sticks, it simply has to be wood with no oils or combustibles added to them, this is the only way you can ensure that you'll taste the true pure flavor of the leaf, think of this as using a dirty glass for pouring a drink in it, you won't taste the actual flavor of the drink but a combination of whatever was in it before and your drink. There is some controversy over this topic but this tip is coming from someone who knows his cigars, I'm from Honduras and my family literally grows some of the best coffee and some of the best nicotiana (cigar leaves) in the world.
