The BEST CINEMATIC Picture Profile for your camera!

At the time of filming and editing this video Sony had not yet released it's S-Cinetone for the A7S III. I'll be having a video releasing within the next couple of days testing out this profile that seems to be the best alternative to using LOG footage. Would you all like to see my workflow when it comes to S-LOG? In Premiere Pro & Davinci Resolve? Let me know down below.

FCPX please! I’ve been shooting Cine 4 for years with my A7iii’s. I upgraded to the A7Siii. I’m experienced with color grading but have never used S-Log. I have the Atomos Ninja V and I’m about to make the jump to S-Log and Raw. Any advice would help please. I have plenty of SSD storage for Atomos

S-Log 3 is the way to go. Don’t be scared by s log if you’ve been using a format like cine 4 the LOG format gives you great options for color grading. Especially if you’re planning on shooting RAW with your a7s iii. For in depth color grading & coloring videos I would go look up Qazi. He’s a pro colorist & easily explains the color correction/grading process. He’s helped me out tons.

@@JoeMooreProductions thank u so much!! I will eventually make the switch after more research. I shot for a few days in Slog3 and RAW on Atomos. I was able to get some cool stuff. I have both A7iii’s adjusted to match my S-Cinetone on A7Siii. Any advice on matching my A7iii’s to my A7siii when I switch to Slog3? Or will I need to upgrade those as well

The learning curve in film making and trying to get to the next level is something else. Trusting your camera in auto mode is always a crunch for me to run n gun but in post I'm in grief because the result are not their. I need to start shooting more and taking all the pro tips given from the pros. Thanks for the pro tips.

the new log3 on the a7siii is so much easier for me to grade as compared to the a7iii slog3! but I'm also testing that new scinetone and I want to see how much dynamic range is lost! dope video bro!

I loved my A7S ii but the 8 bit KILLED ME. Especially after switching to the GH5 & using V-Log 10 bit. Glad to see Sony stepped it up. Especially now offering the cine tone in the a7 line. I’m actually going out tomorrow & testing out the s-cinetone! Will have that video up in next couple of days.

I use s-log3 , some people use slog3cine & some now use s-cinetone

@@JoeMooreProductions so for the color mode on slog3 u use “s-gamut3.cine”?? Cuz I was disappointed asf with the color of my first 4 video shoots cuz it wasn’t really too much I could color grade using no picture profile 🤦🏽‍♂️

I’m confused, if you didn’t have a picture profile on then you didn’t record in s-log3. I don’t use slog3 cine, I use regular s log 3

I’m talking about the setting inside the picture profile.. so if you on your a7siii and u click on your slog3 and click to the right it’ll show color mode, saturation, color phase, color depth.. things like that.. I wanted to know what color mode setting did u select for your slog3 picture profile??

What’s the difference between log 2 and log 3?

S-LOG 3 is giving you more information in your shadows and mid tones. It clips your highlights sooner than what S-LOG 2 would. I believe S-LOG 3 clips at 94 IRE and S-LOG 2 clips at 104-107 (don't remember EXACT number).
