@TatyanasEverydayFood Жыл бұрын
Hi! I don't find that it's too sweet. I personally don't like super sweet desserts but I love this pie! Pure maple syrup (not breakfast syrup, which is just corn syrup) is actually not too sweet. I wouldn't recommend reducing the sugar anymore than a quarter cup (down to 3/4 cups) since it will affect the texture and filling. Enjoy!! :)
@ayshhaaaaaa Жыл бұрын
@@TatyanasEverydayFood Hey thanks for the quick reply!!! Can i bake the crust 2 days prior and then add the filling rather than baking the filling and crust together? If so should I reduce the baking time?
@TatyanasEverydayFood Жыл бұрын
@@ayshhaaaaaa Yes, you can blind bake the crust beforehand, but I wouldn't bake it completely. I usually prebake for about 20 minutes. You won't need to change the final baking time though, since the filling needs to bake. I would place the pie onto a baking sheet to prevent the bottom from getting to dark.

@Tatyana's Everyday Food that part I did not do. I had to make it, cool it, and then take it with for an Easter fsmily event. I'm going to try again this weekend because I'm like you, I can't figure out what I missed, and it's driving me nuts. Because I know I had to have missed something.

@@lastans18 Yes, try chilling it overnight in the refrigerator. That should do the trick!

After baking the pecan pie for 50 minutes, the bottom was still raw and the filling wasn´t very consistent. Do you guys know why?
@TatyanasEverydayFood4 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry to hear that! Every oven bakes differently, maybe yours was running a little bit low. I recommend covering the edges with foil to prevent the crust from burning and baking for longer.
@1998emilyosmet4 жыл бұрын
@@TatyanasEverydayFood The edges of the crust were okay, I should have backed the pie for like 20 minutes without the filling and then bake it again with the filling because the problem area of a pie is always in the middle.

Looks delicious, but I'll have to modify, way too sweet for me, 2 types of sugar plus the syrup. I don't like too sweet
@TatyanasEverydayFood Жыл бұрын
It's one of my favorites! Try not to reduce the sugar too much so it doesn't affect the recipe.

yes, no corn syrup, but you loaded it with refined sugar which is just as bad for you. If you use sugar free maple syrup and a healthy sugar substitute you are far better off. Thanks for the recipe

@@tamekaconley9753 totally wrong on that . just google healthy pecan pie. I eat it every once in awhile. Pecans are excellent for you. sub almond flour for white flour sweeten with monk fruit , 100 x sweeter than sugar but low Glycemic.
