This appears to be super close to Pulsar in concept but looks more expanded and refined; the graphics are on another level than Pulsar, but more importantly, the gameplay appears to be more expanded on, such as with the shield control. If they add VR support like Pulsar then I likely will need to add this to the Wishlist until the next paycheck.

Been playing since launch, game is fun but it needs a bit more variability. There's about a half dozen mission types and not much of a story. Hoping they add more difficult missions and larger ships/multiple ships for bigger raids

@@MithrilRoshi Exploring could be cool, but I think they would need to balance it. What's to stop a player from spending a few hours in a remote area with nothing there trying to find something, or just getting burned out and bored since they have no reason to move on and play more? Scouting would be amazing, maybe as a drone that a player controls that can go out to a certain distance similar to the Subnautica drones, where they could lose connection and need to be picked up... could also mean that an enemy could find a lost drone and go on a type of cautionary alert for potential contacts (i.e. your ship). Maybe a mission to raid a station and destroy aliens or collect logs and reestablish connection before possible contacts reach you would be good? just spitballing ideas tbh lol

One of my favorite memories of this game is as pilot, drifting through a field of pylons with crew blasting miniguns at everything and anything. Made it out of that mission on 1% hull, but we killed soooooo many hollows.

The game kind of reminds me of the XenoThreat event in Star Citizen. Its just a giant war in deep space against outlaw ships, you have people doing logistics runs with other players having to escort them safely, then you have fighters who defend points of interest and clear off the incoming hordes of ships. That was fun so i might give this a try.

Oh god this game: Beutiful, gameplay is solid, and the bugs are slowly being patched (even if they are gamebreaking sometimes). Ill tell you what tho: it turned my casual baby game friends into bloodthirsty pirates, which may have been led on by me roleplaying as space jack sparrow.

Came back to the reason why I bought the game. After the 1.0 release the game has improved the class system so you can mix-and-match Borderlands style with multiple skill loadouts. The devs have made every run an endless with boss fights every 10 missions but you can leave after any mission to keep some weapons and upgrades. Turning your ship into an almost impenetrable dreadnaught over the course of a few hours (longest run for me is around 4hrs) is tons of fun. What isn’t is having to unlock weapons and items every run if your ship blows up. Cheers mate I’m having a blast!

The game looks great. Great space combat sim. It may just be me but I would kinda like if they added a more 'crunchy' 'survival' mode with a bit less combat to the game. It may just be the way video is cut but it seems like there is basically zero down time between the battles, which is great for some people, but if I'm getting a group together to play a game like this it's more to hang out together, not sweat swamp the whole thing like you would most horde shooters. Like if they add in exploration/mining/ship salvaging and tie the gathered resources into the repair mechanic, it would give a bit of down time between battles. And if you can salvage enemy ships it gives you a reason to stick around as long as you can after combat, but maybe then you'd run the risk of running into ships responding to a distress call your enemy sent out if you stick around too long. So salvaging enemies would become a push your luck mechanic. Which would turn it into a more 'realistically' balanced overall space sim, instead of such a combat heavy one. Also it would make it more of a 'chat with your buddies during the downtime then buckle down for the combat sections' game. Which I feel may open the game to a slightly larger demographic than the apparently combat heavy formula.

Metem Preserve Us I highly recommend a revisit. They rebuilt the skill tree (still has some gaps to flesh out). Endless Mode. Controller support is in beta (I'd move a few keys around, but otherwise flying the ship is now a dream). They now have salutes.
