Im 34 years old and 2022 was my introduction to the comic collecting world .Never too late i gotta say. Your channel is one of my favorite discovery of 2022. Black Hammer is the best comic I discovered this year, I read several TPBs of it and got hooked, easily my favorite outside DC/Marvel. I will have to check out more Jeff Lemire goodness, and the new run of Action Comics.

Glad to see World's Finest and Ram V's Swamp Thing on your list James; Ram V has become one of my favourite writers over the last few years. Another great Aquaman horror comic is The Brave And The Bold #32 (2007 series) - Aquaman and the Demon team up to protect Earth from a threat straight out of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. Honourable mention: Moon Knight. Wasted opportunity (Marvel): the Conan licence - Marvel had no idea what to do with the character and settings; we even had Conan teaming up with Wolverine, which epitomises the situation for me. Wasted opportunity (DC): Wonder Girl - Joelle Jones' series was just so spot-on until it fell victim to the chaos that is DC right now. Happy New Year James, hope 2023 brings us both lots of great comics reading experiences.

One big omission would be Batman Beyond the White Knight. One of the best Batman series I read in years and I can see future DC project for that storyline. I also thought Marvel Dark Ages was pretty decent. Great video as always!

Great list! I would have changed a few. I’m a DC guy but Marvel’s MK and Strange has been really good. Vanish and gunslinger from image would have made the list for me. As well as, DC detective comics and the current Batman run

How could you not mention the current Moon Knight run it’s absolutely amazing. The art is what I can only describe as perfect and it perfectly captures the struggles of Moon Knight trying to rebuild and regain trust. And later on in it learn to work once again with his many personalities and with new people. His new flock.

Solid list. My favorite comic any year is Groo the Wanderer. I’m grateful Sergio Aragonés, Mark Evanier, and Stan Sakai are still putting out such a great book. My biggest surprise this year was She-Hulk. The wonderful Bartel covers are worth the cover price alone, and I’m really enjoying the story and presentation style. My biggest disappointment of the year is when Wonder Girl, the debut series for Yara Flor, was abruptly cancelled early in the year. Honorable mention to I Am Batman. Jace Fox is a great addition to the Batman family, and I have had a great time reading this series.

Chip Zdarsky freaking killed it this year with Batman, Batman The Knight and Daredevil. I also LOVED Vanish, Punisher, Ghost Rider, Behold Behemoth, Hitomi, Kaiju Score, Grim, The Amazing Spiderman, and Batman Beyond Neo Year. There was allot of other great comics yes IMAGE killed it this year.

Moon Knight, oh boy, what a run hopefully it doesn't run out of steam in 2023. Jed Mackay may be a writer to watch, his main artist and colorist are also doing some GREAT stuff Wish I had the funds to keep up with more then MK and Walking Dead Deluxe but eh, I'll catch up

Nightwing was one of my favorites for 2022. I think it's consistently the best DC book. I liked Judgement Day until the story shifted to the Celestial, and then it just dragged on and on. The miniseries felt like two different stories that were shoe horned into one, which made it clunky for me. Other titles I enjoyed this year: Daredevil (like how the story is intersecting with the Punisher title), DC vs. Vampires - All Out War (loved the black, white, and red coloring), return of Fables, Ghost Rider, Hulk, Immortal X-Men (my favorite), Iron Man, Maestro - World War M, Moon Knight, Punisher, Secret Invasion, surprisingly Venom, and X-Men Red (a good companion to Immortal X-Men).

My out of nowhere hit of the year is Death Dealer. Best sequel series would be The Kill Lock: The Artisan Wraith. Life Zero was awesome, The Cimmerian Hour of the Dragon was amazing. Gunslinger Spawn, King of Spies, and Do A Power bomb are all winners.

Great list! I have to agree that Image had the best stuff of 2022. Saga and Eight Billion Genies is at the top of my list. Everything I read from DC was also great, but every single Marvel title I read was disappointing. I'm glad to know there's some good stuff out there that I missed.

If you want to read good comics, check out some from Source Point Press. Garrett Gunn’s “Good Boy” series is insanely good! It’s a different spin on the John Wick franchise where the human is murdered and his canine companion goes out for revenge. And they just released the slasher anthology “The Curse of Cleaver County.”

We have very similar lists, DC and Image have been rocking my pulls. ASM has felt a little uneven to me; Liked the Tombstone and Vulture arcs but I haven't loved the stuff with Ben that's going on in Dark Web. To each their own, though, that's the beauty of the medium!

Amazing Spider-Man makes me sad, really hasn't captured the feeling I had when I was young and reading it. Think it is mostly the art, though not a fan of the story arc either. Detective Comics has really improved this year, despite already being a solid read last year. Loving the current cover style

Flashpoint Beyond was good but it stepped all over Dark Crisis when it should have played ball. I blame DC editorial more than Johns (though he has issues too but I digress). Don't get me wrong here, Dark Crisis in and of itself should have -- and could have -- been better; one way that could have happened would be for Flashpoint Beyond to be scheduled, and even written, to crossover better. But they are both over and its all woulda-coulda-shoulda now...
