Looks like a great choice for me when I’m upgrading from my current monitors! I hear a lot of great things about Eve Audio monitors!

That distortion graph is mind boggling. Horizontal directivity also amazing, and tells us that Eve did not abuse the DSP to make the monitors flat on axis, because if they did that the off axis response would we very funky, making them very much not flat in practical use where you hear direct + some room reverb. They instead tailored the frequency response on and off axis with driver, cabinet and crossover design, which is the right way but also the hard way.

Oh... you went with the Carbon for the interface. I'm thinking about this one if I found it cheap enough when the time comes. It was on reverb for 1800 not too long ago... that would be the price range I'd be looking for one

I just bought a pair. Very powerful, yet neutral sounding speakers, I like them. Just one thing bothers me, there is a stable hiss/buzz from the woofers which is higher level than usual (coming from Focal Shape 65s). It does not bother me when I listen to music, but when they there is silence, it's noticeable from about 1 m. Has anyone experienced similar things? Should I send them back?
@mixbustv11 күн бұрын
Why do you think it's the speakers tho'? Something like this is usually cable related or power.
@swst0911 күн бұрын
@@mixbustv I tested the Focals on the same exact setup without the woofer hiss, the tweeter is about the same, standard low level white noise type of hiss, nothing to worry about. Also, there is a noticeable, (probably mechanical) distortion below 50Hz when anything subby music is played. The gain staging between my interface and speakers should be ok, rock and metal sounds fine without weird artefacts. What did I miss? Other than that, perfect speakers for my needs.

Damn, I just bought a pair of Eve SC207 because I was anxious about the price of the SC3070. Is there a big benefit of having a 3-way speaker instead of a 2-way speaker? I still love my new monitors and you were absolutely right about the low-end on Eve monitors. I felt like I have never even heard proper fast low-end response before. My eyes (or my ears) were truly opened. The tweeters are amazing too, not harsh at all. Midrange sounds just right.That's all I can say. If something is off about the midrange it's really easy to spot. Love you man keep making awesome content! ❤
@mixbustv10 ай бұрын
Awesome man, glad to hear you like them! I wouldn't call it a "big" benefit, the 207s are one of my fav in their line. I feel you have a bit more midrange clarity with the 3070s and a better understanding of the depth. Having two drivers make them both a bit more efficient, less stress and distortion probably given the same monitoring levels

Hey David! Great content and congratulations on the new studio, looks great! Looking for a hi-end main/midfield full range monitor for tracking/mixing/mastering. Would you recommend the EVE sc4070 with a sub, or sc3010? Or could i even get away with the sc4070 without a sub? Unfortunately I don’t have the ability to listen to them in my studio before buying them so any advice from you would mean a lot! Thanks in advance and best regards, your production is always stellar! 🤘🏼
@mixbustv10 ай бұрын
For a full range I would probably go with the 4070+sub. This is coming tho' from the point of view of a somewhat spoiled person (me). You most likely could do just as good with the 3010's but *I* feel the difference between the 3010s and my 3012s and the low end difference is enough for me to tell you you'd be better off with the 4070s and the sub because if I don't need the sub with the 3012s then I feel I would with the 3010s.. Makes sense? So, you can't do wrong with either options but if you want real full range you can't do 4070s without a sub.
@TheSakuraGumiLTD10 ай бұрын
The search for the speaker that suits you for mixing and mastering is a very hard thing to find. Even production also. I need a completely different thing for production. With production, becuase I mix I can not have them being overly revealing otherwise I add way too much time to creating a production. I then make one sound and start shaping that sound... add another sound and now I'm wasting time mixing already. You can not mix as you add thing because you don't know where you are going so it is stupid. I know this so I will try not to do this but I need a monitor that I like the sound of without it adding things I struggle with. This is where the speaker for you becomes extremely personal. For mixing and mastering I need thing to be revealing but it can not be so revealing that I am trying to soften everything like you say. On a very low budget, for me, for production, I have found the Tannoy Golds to work for me. I will make a Atmos setup with then as that will be quite cheap to do and I only intend for the moment to do Atmos production to learn mixing in Atmos for later doing that as a service, but for now I need to learn how it works. I'm at a stale-mate when seeking my mix and mastering speakers. What you say about finding a speaker is the very same things I am looking for and if you say these have that for you I will put EVE on my list of speakers to test against each other. Currently I have the Present Day Production MUM 6 speakers, PSI m-17's and Dynaudio Core 47's... this is considering my space will be a converted bedroom in the back of a American style motorhome. So my space is small. I am only looking at Dyaudio also becuase I could join the sub for both Atmos and stereo. I can use the digital inputs for stereo and that then digital out to the speakers and the mono analogue input for the sub be the Atmos .1 and not have to do any work arounds when switching from a stereo project and a Atmos project. But, if they do not fit me for mixing and mastering then I can not sacrifice what my best preference will be just so it's simpler to setup.

With their sub you they have the same just analogue on both... so, I'll see
