in PLL 83 they said the new Hall of the Novice will be required to progress lv 49 MSQ. basically before Cape Westwind that has more of the later mechanics, and before the lv 50 dungeons which start to introduce the stack markers and tankbuster markers

Not sure if someone mentioned it yet, didn't see it when I skimmed the comments. As an ex-FFXI player, I just wanted to weigh in on the Alliance Raid gear look. It is based on the Ark Angels bosses gear from FFXI. Hope that helps clear up why the gear looks like that, and its origins.

The contents we all saw in alliance raid was from culmination of stressful, time consuming, and difficult contents that FF11 offered at the time of their popularity. The Ark Angel aka crystal warriors were especially one of them where it was a wall to a lot of players. Going to places where to fight and how you get there was a journey in itself. Personally, it took me months, if not a year to finish the first expansion of FF11 back in the day. That's not counting dynamis which took me 3 real life years to get my weapon. I serious doubt that it'll be that difficult with our collab but who knows, it may be one of those that we'll wipe constantly.

@@Jake38nine that picture should be a screen shot of an actual char rather than like, the original concept art, so it should be pretty similar aside from any glowy bits or effects. I don't expect them to go full on animated glow because they might save that for criterion Savage again, but sometimes little bits and bobs on weapons glow.

Wholeheartedly agree on the hair rant xD we need more textured/wavy hairstyles! Theres 2 hairstyles that are the exact same, only diff are the bangs and it makes me sad. I was a face 2 xaela aura and still am, I loved how they changed the scale texture and even the face. personally, I ended loving my character more after the update. I did end up going for a darker skin tone than before :1st row, nb5, originally was 2 (that row tends to have some pinkish-purple undertones and it's not a specific enough color that it will only work with just 1 or two tones for glams). Also coming after 7.1, is it me or did they make the upper lip fuller for face 2? I know some other races got their lip fillers 😅

Personally I want a toggle for mount glow/particle effects so I can turn off the ones I don't like (which is pretty much all of them) because most of them are legit annoying or ugly on what is otherwise a great model. Although... a toggle that adds/removes part of the model its self has potential too. I keep telling myself I wouldn't mind more long hairs, but then I remember how much some of the current ones clip into everything and I start to have second thoughts because it means having to redo my glam or not using the long hair. Can't say I'm interested in any of the Extreme/Savage/Ultimate/Chaotic stuff, that's content well beyond my skill level. Hall of the Novice updates are welcome, the tricky part is getting new players to actually do them though, even when there's some okay glam and a nice ring to get out of doing it. GLAMOUR DRESSER CHANGE IS A GODSEND. Though it also means I'll have to go back and "complete" certain sets because I only ever swiped specific pieces from a lot of them, usually the gloves and boots. And whoo boy the graphic changes... I didn't really notice them at first because I went to change into a hrothgal right away, only to change back to femiqo'te after seeing just how unfinished female hrothgar were (and still are judging by the gear artwork they showed). But in the process of turning back into a female miqo'te, she didn't quite look the same as I remembered her so I ended up redoing her completely, which resulted in two Fantasias spent for my trouble after everything was done (thanks for the "freebie" Square-Enix).

I might actually try out the Cloud of Darkness fight, just because I'll feel way less bad about messing up mechanics because I know there'll probably be more players who are also messing up. Also, finally being able to copy settings between characters without having to go into the game files and copy/paste random files will be great.

I'd love for them to be more adventurous with the hairstyle options as well. Maybe from a technical standpoint longer hair would cause issues with clipping and that's why sqex tends to avoid it, but idk

Do the hall of the novice. The ring is 10000% worth it. It gives 30% xp as long as you are below level 30. That will stack with the pre-order earrings, food and one of the mog station outfit sets that have a set bonus (like the maid. The chest piece will say 5 piece set bonus and give 30% xp as long as you are below 30)

Is more aabout savages being too discord focused than on failing the group. FF14 terms of service do not apply to discord so you get some unhinged people and parseheads. That will not only harass you during the game, but also after the game.

It's something I can live with though, so I'll take the free fantasia and store it. I used the last one to mess with eye colour, so I won't waste this one

I'm very happy with the settings that allow you to duplicate your UI/ATH to another characters ! (It should have been put in game sooner to be honest ^^'). I am more eager to see when they will add the beast master because I can't wait for it ^^. And I agree for the hair, when I saw the new one I thought "But isn't it already in game ? I thought I saw people with it...". I would love more curly hairs (not just Afro, true beautiful curls in hair !!), long hair but not juste straight, long hair with some curls etc... I don't care about the clipping effect, I can get use to it, I swear !! I want my character with long hair (I play a male character). When I see Zenos or Ysayle, I'm so jealous of their hair..

It wasn't as bad on the black wings (Though I still would've preferred plain ones), but it ruins the new sphene ones a lot more ;-; I know it'd probably be a huge undertaking to code, but having a toggle for the state would've been really nice :(

def most excited for the battle content, obv xD PvP is fun now, at least when u have ppl that actually try to coordinate attacks rather than just go afk in there for their daily etc.. But new armor sets from PvP are generally pretty cool, the new alliance seems dope. (Yea, the armor set dropped from there is a throwback/nostalgia set from the characters from FF11) I kinda feel u on the hairstyles.. we def need more, anything that adds to the character customization. Some think we dont have enough, so other smaller things that can help contribute to altering ur character to how u like it, is always a good thing.. I just dont like how a lot of the hairstyles are locked behind some really niche content like Heaven on High or floor 200 POTD or Criterion dungeons, stuff thats like impossible trying to Q in with duty finder.. or takes a million years for a PF to fill for that stuff.. so unless u did it 'on content', u're SOL.. they need more hairstyles thats just buyable with either gil or MGP... and yea, to ur rant, prolly doesnt help that SE is a bunch of dudes coding this stuff; who, lets be honest, prolly doesnt have the most experience with female hair types/styles. Literally 2 default styles in the game are the Exact same, but with a white or a black headband in them.. lol

I understand your issue with the character change. Before the update Viera had a white spot on their nose that simulated a rabbit's nose and the update toned it down so much that it was effectively removed. I hated that change because it made my boy feel less "animal-like". I feel like the update shifted Viera even more towards "humans with accessories" which I don't like

Biggest thing for me is the housing changes. Housing makes up 90% of what I do in game, gogo housing savage. The alliance raid and gear are very much ff11. Looking forward to wiping horribly in the early days haha.

20:21 i feel your pain. My main is a Face 1 Fem Highlander, I was absolutely in love with her. 7.0 took her face and made it brawny like the other face options. Brawnier brow, thinner nose bridge, and a more pronounced philtrum. At best she looks like a different character, at worst her face resembles one of the male children faces. No matter how much I changed her in character creation, I could never get her old look back. And I'm surrounded by people who don't care what their characters looked like, so to them i'm overreacting, and I got no one to share my pain with. But at least I finally know I'm not the only one.

It's probably totally unrealistic but I wish there was a way you could practice extremes etc with a NPC practice group. I get initially that it would give positions away but it could be 6 months after the extreme is released and especially for the older content. I've never done an Extreme because I worry too much about messing up. I always do alliance raids but it took quite a while to feel comfortable and confident to do them daily. I really want to do Faux Hollows. I did all of Eureka just to do the Arsenal for the mount ages ago and I still haven't done the raid :/ Confidence is an issue for people. There are probably many fantastic players who avoid raids because of anxiety.

Sad ya don't like Black mage but I def understand! It's a class I have to warm back into everytime I take a break from the game. (it's never been better imo tho, so def give it another try when you're feelin it!) But MAN, i couldn't agree more with the Society hype! I've always love the tribes and their cute lil quests and frankly never understood the hate. Helping them was fun, seeing the stories (the Loporrit one got me too, don't feel bad!) unfurl, gaining levels FAST without much investment, and then the REWARDS. A day 1 play for me as well.

Personally, I want one more Ponytail. Either the practical or Tall Tails without the bangs. Yeah, yeah, 5head, whatever. I like simplicity for my Au Ra, and I hate bangs. That said, I would also like to see some other long hair options, and more curls to tempt me to go back to my Hyur. And here's to hoping that the 7.1 graphics update tweak doesn't make you hate your Miqo.

I'm not feeling the alliance gear either but I'm sure I can use at least one piece of gear from those sets to enhance one of my glamour plates. Also, I think they're shying away from giving us longer hair because it clips through most gear and looks terrible. The clipping in this game is atrocious, especially with hair and tails. The people who were mad that their tails didn't clip though capes are the dumbest gamers on earth.

It's okay if you dont enjoy the game, it's not for everyone. If you dont enjoy the story but want to give endgame stuff a try, you could purchase a story skip. You would still have to play through Dawntrail but again you could just skip all the cut scenes. Then you would have access to current content like eveyrthing i mentioned in this video, as well as the first tier of savage raids, the first 2 extreme trials. It's going to be a matter of figuring out what kind of player you are and what kind of content you like. Do you enjoy crafting and gathering? Social scenes? Challenging battle content? Relic (or other) grinds?

pvp/glam/crafting/gathering/fishing/rp/leveling alt jobs/gold saucer/field exploration (bozja/eureka/new one coming soon)/deep dungeon/variant dungeon. Even just talking about "raiding" there are many different types of them, alliance for casuals, extremes/savages/criterion for mid tier raiding and ultimates for high end raiding, not to mention chaotic raids which are also coming out. There are many types of content in the game it's up to you whether you care about some types or not, which is fine if you don't but don't act like raiding is the only thing you can do.
