Just a correction: Regardless of CPU efficiency, all of the energy it consumes is transformed into heat energy, the efficiency just means it has better performance for the same amount of energy and heat. Different die topology and thermal conductivity will make one CPU easier to cool than another CPU despite both releasing the same amount of heat.
@ElevatedSystems2 жыл бұрын
In regards to efficiency I was mostly referring to voltage leak while overclocking. I try not to get too technical in review videos as most ppl tend to click away when the convo gets overly technical. If I start getting into the efficiency of moving electrons through gates, even at the most basic level, I'll loose everyone.

It looks like the fan holes would be close to their 90mm fan...Maybe the NF-A9x14 would fit in front with no ram clearance issues, maintaining the height profile. Not sure if it would make any difference in cooling though. Good overview on a great product!

I thought about a 92mm fan but Noctua sent the NF-A12x25r so that's what I went with. I'll have to dig out one of my 92mm fans and see if it fits.

Actually noctua has one competitor that can fit 4U case and is pretty close in performance with NH-D12L. It's NH-C14S Thou i would actually be interested performance review between NH-D12L vs NH-C14S vs Jiushark JF13K

A comparison with the Mugen 5 Rev C, would have been more proper. It comes with the fan spinning at 1500rpm instead of 1200rpm.

The Mugan 5 Black Edition has the same 1500rpm Kaze Flex 120mm fan as the rev C.

hello, thanks for sharing... I have a question. I own a i5-12400 (65w tdp), with the cooler can I use it without a fan?... I want a kind of silent build and I dont want to go for the NH-P1, find it too big!!!

Just gonna say another cooler that is low and cools well, albeit in a smaller form factor, is the NH-u9s Been using one with my Ryzen 7 5800X non-3D for quite a few months now, and other than something like 80 degrees in benchmarks, the highest I have gotten it to go was 70 degrees with hearts of iron IV running, and Trailmakers running at the same time, with me doing things in both of them to stress my cpu (Loading several high complexity vehicles in TM and running 5 speed with Kaiserreich in Hoi4).

@@FromBKI 68 degrees Fahrenheit without PC on. It does get heated up a bit but only to like 70 degrees when it's on though.

I use noctua d15s to cool i5 11500 I think it worth it. The fan never goes beyond 700rpm during benchmark even in summer and only around 2-300rpm when idle so the fan noise never bothered me. If budget and compatibility are no issues then always go with a better cooler you won't regret it.

If a D15 has trouble keeping a 12900k away from 90c, this won’t to any better. IMO the most you can do with air in 12th gen is 12700k.
