ATTENTION POTENTIAL BUYERS!!! This was my buddy Jeff’s bike, and we brought it down to Kaplan Cycles from NH because it deserved to be done right! This ‘01 CR250R had EXTREMELY low hours on it to begin with. Even before it got the Kaplan treatment it was a VERY fresh bike! It still had its original tires with date codes that were barely touched! It was always stored right and taken care of very well. It was ridden but NEVER beat on. The frame rails have absolutely no dents and are utterly immaculate! Ken Sr. forgot to mention that this bike has been to Factory Connection in NH for front racing suspension. You’ll see the original Factory Connection sticker on the top right fork. Folks, I can’t even begin to tell you what an unbelievably nice bike this is. It was the best year for the CR 250, and this one has been stored away in super nice condition for years. It was only taken out to fire it up and let her breath a bit, and then drained and put back in storage. It’s literally a time capsule. Team Kaplan, you did one hell of a job with her, and we knew you guys would! Thanks for doing this gem justice! 4 Thumbs up from Kevin and Jeff up in NH!

Thats awesome man! I'd give just about anything for that gem. The only CR250 I ever got ride was an 01, I was young then and had no idea what a marvel I was riding. Unfortunately all we cared about back then was how high we could send it.

Very nice bike! You can also tell what a very very low hour bike is by the clutch cover, oem exhaust, and oem straight radiators.

I will compete who has the true original 2001 cr250r. Non reproduce parts all original to carb and jets. Seat is original never raced. I would pay 10k for this bike but I own it at 6789 retail in 2001. Ripper extreme 'ripper'

The 01 Cr250r is the second generation Honda aluminum frame, only used in 2000-2001. The mapping of this engine is also the hardest hitting when combined with the timing of the mechanical Powervalve.

Could someone please explain that throttle set up to me? I'v never heard of that before and I'v certainly never seen it,very curious,If you get a free moment maybe JR or SR could just give a brief overview of that. The 01 250 is actually the CR I have spent more time on than any, loved it. I do consider myself very lucky to have ridden one.

The digital ignition, porting etc. sets the 01 engine far apart from the earlier versions of this engine.

The rc valve isn’t bad with porting and a headkit. Shit rips like a 450 down low. Wish it kept going like a 4 stroke or big bore 2stroke

.. Hi there again, Ken ,.. Great vid ,. I've got the very same year CR250,.. I've been tinkering with the TMX38 carb and fitted the JD jet block gasket, but still need to sort the jetting correctly,.. I've changed the needle jet to an S7 from the standard S9, which has improved things, ( all other jets and the needle are standard at present ).. Do you have any data for the carb set-up using a Pro Circuit pipe, perchance ,.. ? Cheers in advance,.. Dan Shooter, ..London, England ,....
