I have noticed that the absolute best crowd work comedians usually make themselves giggle. Makes sense, because every joke they make is new to them too. I am fascinated by the way his mind works. The ability to have a discovery conversation with a completely unknown person, mentally bookmark the key points that have potential for future use, and then zero in on the perfect opportunity to circle back and close the loop...it's genius. What's really amazing, is that this presentation feels every bit as polished as a scripted and seasoned act. I'm also a combination of extremely impressed, and slightly jealous of the confidence in your craft it must take to step in front of a crowd for a half hour with no script. I would definitely pee myself.
