Been a Maingear customer since 2010, outstanding build quality and parts and really easy to work with / great support. On my third desktop gaming PC build from them, the first two still running including the one I got in 2010 (only change was video card upgrade later). Turnaround is pretty quick and I don't mind paying a few hundred more because I trust them and have had outstanding customer experience.

For a company that wasn't included, iBUYPOWER is a company I've bought two prebuilt desktops from. First one was like $1,300 in Dcember of 2018 for a GTX 1080 and my second being a RTX 3080 build in October of 2021 ($2,200). Both ran good and there was never any issues. This is just something to consider if you're looking and it takes aorund 2 - 4 weeks for people to get their PC.

This is why you just build your own PC... You can control every aspect of it, like manufacturer of the important hardware, etc., and you're not paying for the overhead of someone building it for you. Plus you get some experience with all the components for when you want to swap something out down the road...

DigitalStorm build times are wildly inaccurate on their site. Even their basic custom PC is a two-month minimum wait. They advertise a 10-15 business day turn around, it is FAR higher. I just bout an iBuyPower, and I think I am going to have to send it back. The cores (i9 11700KF) are overheating (reaching as high as 115 deg C), airflow in the case is throttled by the front glass (I had to take it off completely) and the fans on my Gigabyte RTX 2080 Super are not coming on at all. Ad in the skimpy 90 day warranty for a refurbished unit (I've had Dell refurb unit last over a decade). Tech support was very little help. Now I have to deal with them again to send the thing back. A quick thing I noticed with Build Redux: their prices for each component are abnormally high. Heres what they say these GPUs cost, and how much they actually cost: 1650: $210 ($156) 3050: $350 ($220) 3060 8gb: $400 ($260) 4060 Ti 8gb: $440 ($400) 4070: $670 ($585) 3080 10gb: $800 (no longer in stock, used at about $400) 4070 ti: $900 ($790) 4080: $1300 ($1100) 4090 $1800 ($1590) They are being upfront with the part costs, which I like, but they honestly should've kept them hidden since they are massively overcharging for most of their parts.

I’m pretty new at this and I’m currently looking to buy a pre build. I also really do not know much of anything about computer parts and what works better with what. All I’m really looking for is a computer that can play mw2 and some other games like the last of us part one when it comes to pc in a few weeks. I currently have a Xbox one s and I don’t want to buy a new console. Therefore I’d much rather switch to a gaming desktop. If anyone has any suggestions on where to look or if any has bought a decent desktop that they recommend I’d very much appreciate it! Mainly something that can be upgraded throughout the years to come and something that can play games that are out now with atleast 100fps. I know that may be vague, I’ll take any suggestions though

@@JesseThePotatoHunter through out these past few days I’ve been doing tons of research so I can atleast get a idea of what it’ll be like to build my own pc. And from what I’ve been learning I’ve become gravitated towards building my own since it’s more customizable. I’ve found a decent motherboard (GIGABYTE B650M DS3H) and the processor I plan on buying is a Ryzen 5 7600x with a RX 6700XT Graphics card. From there I was able to find a cpu cooler and power supply that works with this specific motherboard. It took a ton of hours a day this past week researching all of this but compared to buying a pre-build with the same specs and all of that I easily would’ve spent 2 grand. By the time I buy everything like the case, RAM and memory & monitor it’ll still be cheaper rather then buying a prebuilt. Also my budget is around 1 to $1.4k

@JosephDiBenedetto Yes sir that's a good combo I have similar parts just the motherboard is an Asus ROG strix b650a really just because of aesthetics but I do like the features as well. For gaming especially the 6700xt is a good bang for buck I got mine used and I saved on the ram, cooler and fans. I ended spending like 1300 I think. You can run high fps on 1440 and run like 100 give or take on 4k. I switched from ps5 and I can tell the difference it's a better experience imo.

Considering the difference in those games you want something with at least 12g RAM and a graphics card thats a little past Ryzen 5-5500. To be realistic I don't honestly know how to pinpoint exactly what pc build would be good but components wise you would need something around there. My first PC was a HP gaming pavilion with the 5500 and 8g RAM and just to give you and idea, I could RUN most games but there was almost no chance I wouldn't be tweaking with graphics everytime. I won't sugar coat it either, if you are looking to play with smooth processing and good looking gameplay, you're gonna spend at LEAST $1000 -$1500 and just because of how much parts cost and total out to I'd be amazed if you find something good that's in the middle of 1000 and 1500 the hp I bought was a stock made from Walmart for like 675 and the PC I upgraded to was around $2100. It's no joke that real, beautiful PC processing for a good gaming experience is quite costy but I absolutely encourage you to research as much as you can. Hopefully I was of at least some help.

Overheating, usb ports losing power, psu failing, m.2 failing, 450w power cable to a 4090, corrupted OS that was installed, lower fan stops spinning and starts making horrible sounds. Many more issues. 2 year warranty to replace with the same trash parts? And then pay for shipping due to their negligence and wait many months to get it back? With more trash parts and some lazy person who didn't pay attention when running quality control tests. Even the IO shield was not installed correctly blocking off the USB ports.
