I got to edit on this and I am deeply appreciative of how thorough a review this is. Its so nice to see people who grok what we were putting out. We really tried to make it a setting where you would want to be a punk; because to be anything else is misery, and being a punk ain't much better but to not be a punk is to be lickspittle to the people making you miserable.

I handed my friend and co-worker who’s also the other DM of the friend group my copy of Cy_Borg today and he’s been reading it since 9:30 this morning. Safe to say this is quickly becoming a favorite ttrpg of the group. Granted I also convinced the others in my group with homebrew subclasses I bought on drive through rpg and DM’s guild. Simian Experiment, Merrymaker, Abandoned Algae farmer, and free salvager are some amazing choices if the ones from the book aren’t to your liking.

this looks absolutely amazing. I recently started a cyberpunkRED campaign and this looks like a fine addition to fill gaps like npcs, places or events which cyberpunkRED sometimes makes it hard to really grasp something. Also the size looks really handy and practical.

The game's art is gorgeous and really hits home the punk aesthetic of cyberpunk. I'd say it feels more punk than any cyberpunk game I've ever played or read. Also, for us mini gamers there is Kill SampleProcess from the Forbidden Psalm game line and it's great.

Will the cy_borg campaign you will be running be recorded and posted anywhere ?
@TesseractMinis2 жыл бұрын
Hard to say at this stage. It's going to largely depend on how we run it and how feasible it is to record it/edit it. There's certainly a possibility, but I wouldn't want to promise

I just got my Backer copy the other day, I've already got a group set to run Lucky Flight Takedown, the one shot in the back, and after that we'll see if we can make it an ongoing campaign (albeit with a lot more characters on the back burner just in case of deaths)

To be honest, my whole incentive for buying Cy was that I don't wanna wait several years for 2077 the Rpg, to get a fresh cyberpunk experience. I've played 2020 since I was 8 years old 😂
@harraldschmitt91132 жыл бұрын
It depends. If you are contend with a system that is constructed basically exclusivley around the idea of fighting, then Cyborg is likely right for you. If you are looking for the ability to play a true sandbox than shadowrun is probably still the single best cyberpunk game out there
@TesseractMinis2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean? Cy_Borg has an extremely light, casual and unintrusive combat system. It's entirely designed to place roleplaying and narrative at the front. Shadowrun suffers from the same problem CP2020 and Red do (2020 being my all time favourite RPG) in that it's TOO detailed at times, to be able to have a lighter, more relaxed game. It's a lot of work for GMs, and the amount of material available often gives players decision paralysis. Cy_Borg is the literal opposite of what you seem to think it is.
@harraldschmitt91132 жыл бұрын
@@TesseractMinis I disagree. Cyborg has classes. That fact alone prohibits natural character play and progression, because classes tend to pigeonhold the character into a specifc build. This is why i said that if you are looking to play a true sandbox, one that allows you to run a restaurant or any othe rnon combat oriented adventure, SR is probably the best setting out there. I do agree with you however that the rules of SR are painfully complicated, i was talking more so anout the setting and teh fact that the game has explicitly non combat focused progression and no classes
@TesseractMinis2 жыл бұрын
You know that the classes are optional right? And in fact in the development from Mörk_Borg to Cy_Borg, the user feedback was actually that they vastly preferred the class system so almost always implemented it. In either event, there is nothing in the rules that stops you from being a restaurant owner who moonlights in some other profession. The whole point of playing a rules light game is that breaking rules has less impact, because the rules are less essential to the experience in the first place.
@harraldschmitt91132 жыл бұрын
@@TesseractMinis I agree. I was unaware that the classes are optional, it did not seem that way from what i have read. I see the benefits of a class system but i dont like it, i like to build my own characters using point buy systems, which allow for ultimate control over character creation and progression, which is why i said it depends on the player.
@TesseractMinis2 жыл бұрын
Well, of course it depends on player. Taste isn't really cause for disagreement. You can just prefer things, no one minds :)
