Eggplant Acadian. Peal egg plant slice 1/2 inch thick. Soak in heavily salted water 30 minutes. Salt, pepper onion powder and Cheyenne pepper lightly flour then egg wash and flour again. Deepfry at 350 degrees until golden brown. Make a white sauce seasoned with onion powder Cheyenne pepper and salt garlic powder maybe added if you want. Add in boiled shrimp or crawfish to sauce. Place eggplant medallion on plate cover with sauce and enjoy. The secret to cooking eggplant is the salt water Brian soak removes the bitterness.

Thanks for sharing the seeds! I ordered all of my seeds from Pinetree when I first started purchasing seeds. But I've since gotten different seeds from here and there. I have got to stop watching seed 'unboxings' lol! Every time I do I see something else I'd like to try! I got habanodo and nadapeno after seeing you talk about them. I think it was you. I've started more seeds than I could ever possibly use! The problem is, the more I decide to grow the more raised beds we need to add to what we had last year. I told my daughter-in-law to check with me before she buys anything because I've probably got it!😂🤣 Just too many things to get excited about!

Last year I grew black beauty eggplants 🍆. Probably just because I had the seeds and am always up to trying something new. I had never cooked with it and hadn’t even eaten it too much before. I made eggplant fries. I made extra and flash frozen them and put them in the freezer and ate them several times. I rea😢enjoyed them. I also tried a eggplant Parmesan casserole which was delicious. I learned the key to cooking with them is putting salt on them and letting them “sweat” before cooking with them. But I am definitely no expert. And finally I found a recipe that called for dehydrated eggplants (I had an abundance 😮) it sounds kinda similar to hummus and it’s called baba ghanouj. I haven’t tried making it yet but thanks for the reminder. 😊

Friend you read my mind, I just came off the 99heirloom seed website as your video popped up😊 I am about to do a seed haul So I went on a hunt outside of my fifty catalogs and ran across the site I mentioned above and also the site you mentioned here. I love the seed haul unboxing you do its so exciting to see about other veggies I never heard of that I haven’t grown yet and what people in other states grow for their families. I need to go back to your Jar sprouts video and see whats the info on where you purchase the bag of seed sprouts and your other unique veggies you mentioned in your last few videos of your veggies topics. Im interested in some of unique tomatoes you mentioned in that haul. I love growing the heirloom tomatoes they taste THE BEST!! On the ideas of what to do with eggplant this is what I use them with but this is a small list of things that can be done with eggplant besides what I do. What I do with egg plant is Eggplant Parmesan in the place of chicken, or Fried Parmesan Eggplant, Grilled Eggplant or Eggplant Lasagne…Theres many great recipes for eggplant but these are my favorite….Happy Gardening, God Bless 😊

I have a question I've been meaning to ask about raised beds. I have a couple of huge piles of straw and pine bedding from my goats. I know you said before that goat manure is a cold manure and can go straight into the garden. But, for raised beds can I use some of that just to fill space and then put a foot or so of soil and compost? We're building more beds and they are around 3 feet tall. That's a lot of dirt to have to buy. We put limbs and leaves in what we built last year but I have SO much bedding piling up in my woods. I'd love to find a use for it!
@SageandStoneHomestead Жыл бұрын

So my question is for a brand new first time veggie grower how do you know which seeds to pick I mean ok heirlooms are it seems the best to get but I mean like when I go buy carrot seeds there's not just 1 but 10 different varieties. Lol how do you choose and know which is best for you that'll grow in your area.
@SageandStoneHomestead Жыл бұрын
Usually you will want to get to know someone in your area to truly know what works best there. Some varieties get more adapted to your area as you grow it and keep back seed. The back of the seed packet should have days to maturity on the back so you want to make sure you have enough days for it to grow fully.
@SageandStoneHomestead Жыл бұрын
Also heirlooms are good but not always best. I have a hard time with heirlooms sometimes. Hybrids have nice features like pest and disease resistance that can make your first garden easier to manage. But heirlooms have a lot of variety and flavor and the seed is going to breed true when you save it and be like the parent plant.

i didnt find any 90c seeds !!! everything $3+ i usually order from nikitovka from Ukraine cheaper and free shipping if you order $20+

Sow right seeds is free shipping over $25. In the video it's discussed how to get the 90c price. You need to get a pack deal like the homesteader's collection and add our coupon code. Each packet is 90c after that, or at least was a year ago when I made the video

I’m so excited! We recently moved from California to Tennessee and my entire collection of seeds is MIA 🥹 This was a perfect timing. Thank you.
