The fact that your room is so black is what makes it sexy af! I wouldn't want a billion colors and tassles distract me from the movie, that's the whole point.

If your a sci Fi fan, don't overlook the outstanding quality content available now exclusively on streaming platforms, Netflix, apple TV+, Prime video, Disney+, etc. Great atmos mixes that rival feature film Blu Ray quality despite lack of full lossless bandwidth!

I have always appreciated your perspective as a consumer, and movie enthusiast. It seems many start this way, and quickly become a marketing arm for many products. I subscribe and it becomes an endless stream of affiliate links, and advertisements. They stop becoming product reviews, and become homogenous product showcases. And thanks for NOT telling us all kaleidescape is the best thing since sliced bread, simply because it has the most profitable margins for everyone, but the consumer.

I appreciate the kind words, man! I feel like anybody who is promoting Kscape is either a professional installer, or someone trying to buy their way into KZbin success.

@@TerminatorJuice No problem, you're one of the few rare ones sharing your journey, without selling your soul, lol. I understand many are trying to do YT full time, but many aren't very discreet about it. I do wish you pumped out more content, but understand you are spending your free time actually watching movies. I was thinking how could do a recommendation list for movies that best combine content and technical prowess (like every Nolan movie, but lesser known). There are a lot of gems out there. Fllicks that movie lovers should actually watch all the way through because the movie is good, and not just buy to skip to reference scenes to demo.

@@nonametofame I totally agree with you, and I'm definitely going to make that video, even though it probably won't get 200 views... It makes me sick to my stomach anytime people bring up good movies like Edge of Tomorrow or BladeRunner 2049 and the only thing these dudes talk about is the opening scenes for testing out their subwoofers... SMH
@nonametofame Жыл бұрын
@@TerminatorJuice it's worse to find out that those dudes have never seen the movie, or just barely saw it for the first time recently. I get that many get into it to simply "flex," but that's an awful lot of money and time, just to impress people you don't know. And that's a travesty to not enjoy these movies, because Edge or Tomorrow and BR2049 are frickin awesome films. Speaking of where art meets technical brilliance, I can't wait for the 4k release of The Creator. I just saw it theatrically in an AMC Dolby. Now if Kscape could release that this weekend exclusively for their players, I'll drop $8k in a heartbeat for it.

Agree Tenet sounds amazing. Also first time I saw Pacific Rim it blew me away soundwise. And image also is top notch.
@TerminatorJuice Жыл бұрын
Pacific Rim does sound really good, but over the years I'm finding the movie itself to be less and less appealing... Upon repeated viewings it just kind of falls apart for me, and also I feel it's been surpassed 30 times over by other movies when it comes to the audio side of things

Thanks for sharing your theater experience! First thing I did was paint my ceiling and front wall black. Best decision I made. I’m going to take your advice and paint the white trim next! New sub😊
@TerminatorJuice8 ай бұрын
Painting the ceiling in the front wall. Black is pretty much mandatory in a dedicated home theater in my opinion ! And getting rid of that white trim in my room was a decision I have never regretted! Also, what subs are you considering?
@TorinTPG Жыл бұрын
I remember when you were debating adding the subs. Happy that it worked out :)
@TerminatorJuice Жыл бұрын
With my tower speakers I had damn near perfect bass in my room, so it was a big blow to go from that to having to spend an additional $2,300 on subs to get back what I lost... : (

@@TorinTPG Not to my ears they aren't. If they were ported subs then they would probably blow away what I had before... but these sealed subs don't have the punchy bass I was looking for.

If they dont have Atmos, thats what the upmixers are for. Thats why I'm making sure my next upgrade has Auro3D and at least 13 channels.
@Antibackgroundnoise Жыл бұрын
Being a 2 channel music enthusiast and upgrading to an Atmos setup I couldn't believe how much my noise floor had risen. I was so dismayed with the background signal noise which btw some people may call an ambient sound of the room, I was actually thinking of going back to a two channel setup. It was only when I shielded my cables of length did the noise floor finally come down satisfactory levels! Hence.. what does your room sound like when you press mute or pause. Btw form my understanding and someone please correct me if I'm wrong Atmos channels are cut off at 80Hz
@TerminatorJuice Жыл бұрын
Are you saying that there was noise coming from your speakers due to the wire? Or are you saying the noise was emanating from the wire itself?
@Antibackgroundnoise Жыл бұрын
That's the thing, it's kinda hard to pinpoint where RFI noise is coming from. It's almost as if the noise is emanating from the room itself. When I used to disconnect my heights & surrounds the noise floor of the room used to come down! Which told me my previous cables were the culprits (one of them being 14 awg amazon basics) It's only when I purchased shielded cables that I managed to get rid of the extremely faint but annoying background signal noise. Thought I'd mention it just in case any of your listeners have the same sensitivities. Like your content btw and totally agree... a good listening experience is not so much in the way it's audio is being dispersed but more to do with the audios mastering and design.
@TerminatorJuice Жыл бұрын
@@Antibackgroundnoise I've never heard of anything like what you've described, but now I think I might test it out in my room... I'm going to wait until late at night and sit in my room for 5 minutes, and then unplug all of the A/V equipment and see if i hear a difference.
@Antibackgroundnoise Жыл бұрын
@TerminatorJuice if it doesn't bother you or if one's not aware of it. My advice is not to go looking. One wouldn't wish to become aware of it (especially unnecessarily). You know the old saying if it's not broken, why go looking. However, if one is wishing to get their room as quiet as possible. Play a movie for 10 to 15 minutes, turn the system off, disconnect heights & surrounds. Wait 5 minutes. Replay the same scene and then listen if the room has become quieter. Unshielded cables can act as antennas for attracting RF, and the longer the cable the better the antenna. Please bear in mind I'm a heavy listener. (maybe a little too heavy 🤯)

@FURognar Жыл бұрын
@@TerminatorJuice if its a dedicated room, why would that even be an issue? Thr wife should come home from the salon one day and BAM, the theater is all black/grey/dark blue/purple. Of course you wouldnt do that in a multi-purpose living room, but for a dedicated theater, the S/O should have no say on that.

Do you use upmixing for 5.1 content? If so, which do you prefer?
@TerminatorJuice Жыл бұрын
Well my Yamaha is set to automatically turn any 5.1 into 7.1, and I love how that sounds... But I'm not 100% sold on the up-mixer for the height channels, so I switch back and forth between using it and not using it.
@flyers10az Жыл бұрын
What MV (main volume) do you usually listen to an action movie at? -10, -15, -20? Other? Also have you tried transducers like Crowsons yet?
@TerminatorJuice Жыл бұрын
Most movies are louder or quieter than one another, but I feel a higher percentage of movies I watch come in around -19. But I found that -13 works for some recent releases like The Flash and Across the Spider-Verse. I don't know why there is this inconsistency from movie to movie, since supposedly they are all being mixed at a reference volume... Also you have to consider that not all SPL meters are actually calibrated, so there could be a difference of 5db depending on which meter you used versus what I used. As far as transducers are concerned, I have no real interest because I don't want to deal with trying to run wires under the carpet, or mess with mounting the actually units to my couch. Add to that the fact that I get some really nice tactical bass from my rear subwoofer, so I don't really feel the need for more feedback.
