For Pikachu I would run an extra Giovanni because it wins you games against Gyarados pretty easily. With Giovanni, you can one shot the tank, which forces them bring out their Karp, or a gyarados with limited energy. This allows Pikachu to land two hits in before gyarados can even attack. I usually cut a zapdos, 1 zapdos is just fine.

New mankey and 1 of each primeape is the way to go, and most people will hit new mankey not expecting an old primeape to swing for 100
