That's why you use quick adjustment on the guy you want to play as, never do individual adjustment it takes too long.

@@JackShephard777 but that defeats the whole purpose of these tips if your only gonna adjust 1 player. the best way to play defense is to adjust everything you need, but unfortunatley as u said it takes way too long and u cant do it in timeouts cos its a play by play thing. sometimes i have enough time to make all my adjustments and i can say it 100% makes a difference

At this point I just think Madden 22 is fundamentally broken (at least when playing against all madden cpu teams). The routes seem to change mid play, they always convert clutch third downs, nearly always throw it away in time, etc. Your corners trip and leave routes open, the moment you chose underneath coverage you get beat by a streak route, but every single time you throw a streak route it gets picked (even with pass leading). Half of the passes seem to be inaccurate because of pressure on the QB (even if you chose the blitz counter game plan or even while using a QB such as Tom Brady, who has a great throw under pressure rating). The opposing corners and safeties instantly drop coverage the second after you throw it because they immediately know who you threw it to. If you decide to blitz the linebackers the cpu decides to suddenly run slant routes to the middle of the field. All Madden is meant to be difficult, but it's to the point where the cpu just specifically counters everything you chose to do. And somehow, when playing on All Madden, your AI players seem to become so much worse than on other difficulties. You cannot control every player on the field at once obviously, so how is it fair that every single time you user a cornerback/safety, all the others that you are not usering leave their routes open? Maybe EA will realize some of these issues. I have no problem with the game on All Madden difficulty when playing against another real player, but going up against all cpu teams is just unbelievably frustrating.

I’m very curious. Why not do curl flats at 25 and flats at 5? Football logic lacks sense but maybe there’s madden logic where it reacts better this way. Can anyone explain?

I think it's easier for the CB (Hard, Cloud, Soft Squat) to take away the corner route since they are closer to the sideline. Sometimes that slot defender (CB or LB) may not be fast enough to get under the corner route for INT. That's my only guess.

These defensive adjustments are solely based on the opponent running the same gun bunch offense. Trash! Madden isn't even a sim football game when all these comp players just use a meta scheme the whole time. Two dudes who have the same players who play out of the exact same offensive and defensive sets. Pathetic. These "pro's" should have to get a play chosen by the cpu and run whats chosen for them and see how good they are without the glitchy meta garbage that players use now a days. TRASH!

I agree been playing madden since 06. Started really playing 2012. From madden 25 - 18 was great years. More unique squads, different ways to play. Most importantly no glitchy players. Back then in December is when they released 90 overall. But now just cheesy fan boys who will comment “get good” like if we played with regular teams they could beat me.

I use my Custom Playbook everytime I play Regs. The disconnects isn't because you are using a custom playbook. I don't know who started that rumor. It may take a couple attempts but I get on with my custom Playbook.

I do 15 stead of doing 20 or 25 .My flats yes 5 or 10 but with my defense of line adjustments its quite hard far someone to go 50yards on me just saying 🤣🤔🤣🤔

You can do them either way but the reason people are doing them like this right now is mainly for when you want to call Cover 2, you need the Cloud Flats to drop far back.

The players playing the flats are your safeties which will have faster speeds and man/zones so you want them playing the sidelines for cross plays. So it makes sense for them to be playing 20-25 yards. And in curl you will have your LBs which so far aren't really the fastest in the game but they can get away with playing at the 5-10 yard.

@@BDJFTW no. He’s meaning in adjustments he made the blue zones (hard flats) 20 yards and purple zones (cloud flats) 5. And in the cover 3 he had to shift the DB zones from a cloud flat to a hard flat so they played 20 yards back. But it would be easier if you just made cloud flats 20 yards so you didn’t have to waste the few seconds doing that.

These are great tips but I am starting to hate how many adjustments you need to make in madden now to make your defense even realize they need to cover someone. Sometimes you have no time and idk how you are going to do it against no huddle guys who do it a lot. I'm getting to the point where I just want to play just offense now because your defense is just so awful unless you spent like 10mins adjusting it every snap. Why did madden do this? It's ridiculous. And the all madden cpu is beyond too good as well. They have defenders actually running your routes? Lmao

I can't play defense to save my life I have to score 50 to win so I play with the Chiefs everytime. I can't stop the run ,the pass nothing totally sucks.
