Thank you for the comparison. I have been debating on these 3, judging from your results I am going to continue with LR. Thanks again

A few comments: DXO sharpening is applied to the entire image, while Topaz offers choices (subject, entire image, brushes). Topaz also offers choices in both sharpening amount and sharpening process, with sliders for control. You might discover that if you try to add LR masking to a Topaz DNG you cannot do so. The solution is easy: make sure you have the Topaz DNG selected, open the "calibrations" tab in LR, and select the latest process version (version 6 if you have LR up to date). For some reason Topaz often returns the DNG with a "version 1" choice. Version 1 is ancient history. And in passing, DXO needs more computer power to run smoothly. I use both DXO and Topaz, and it's "horses for courses."

I've had good results with the denoise Luminar Neo photo editing program. How does that compare in your opinion to the two you mention in this video?

To be honest, I haven’t had great results with it compared to the ones mentioned in this video. It’s a step down in my opinion.

Totally agree. I find Topaz better for portraits, DXO for everything else

Great comparison... thanks for your info. I have the latest version of Topaz as well as LR, and now notice that when I send a .DNG file from LR to Topaz the returning file is a Tiff format. I use to receive a DNG file back and that is what I prefer. Any clarity here? thanks

Hmm I'm not sure, but you may want to reach out to Topaz?

If you send a RAW file from LR to TopazAI as your very first step, using "plug in extras," you get a DNG back. But if you try to send a DNG directly to Topaz a message appears saying LR edits will be applied and asking how you want the file to be returned. Tiff is the default choice.

@@JohnShawPhoto Thanks...... I may just go back to keeping files in raw format and not converting to DNG on LR import. That should solve everything.

As a Fujifilm shooter, DxO PureRAW is for me. Nothing demosaics the X-Trans sensor better.

I get weird color fringing sometimes with lightroom denoise between foreground and the night sky, it’s convenient but I prefer good old stacking. Thanks for comparison

Odd, I definitely have hit or miss results with it. Thanks for checking it out!

You need to add sharpness ton the LR file like you would have if it was not submitted to NR
