That Metalgreymon card is not only a callback to the original card and artwork but also, the arena it is in (with the green tiles) is actually a reference to Mt. Infinity in Digimon World 1 which is the last dungeon in the game and where you fight MetalGreymon right before Machinedramon. Also that final card with Penguinmon, such a huge callback to DW1. Gotta give props to the card artists, they know what they're doing.

It's even more appropriate for Blucomon's appearance to be alongside Penguinmon/Penmon when you look up Blucomon's profile entry, which states that the two are close friends, so they're two buddies playing Curling together! XD

Another subtle one that you might not notice unless if trying to make a green-purple deck (due to Arukenimon), is that Wormmon and Kimeramon synergize really well together on purpose. Kimeramon destroys one of your own Digimon, which in this case, would be Wormmon. Wormmon then gets destroyed and activates its effect to scry and draw a champion. You now have Stingmon and you can rebuild another Wormmon from scratch. If this sounds familiar, then yes, it's the end of the Kimeramon arc of 02.

How interesting. All I can say to that is that I’d be pretty happy to see a card with a reference to Digimon World 3/2003 like an oinkmon in the background of the card art, or something like zanbamon standing in front of the gate through the jungle grave. Digimon World 3/2003 was one of my favorite childhood games, so seeing a reference to it would be very nice.

My favourite callback/reference is the BT5-050 Weedmon card. It references the Monochrome Shop mini game from the first Digimon World game where you had to work for Monochromon in his shop and try and upsell to a variety of Digimon customers. Weedmon was notoriously famous for being the most difficult customer to try and make a profit on and would often storm out of the shop even if you lowered the price for him. I love how the card shows him looking displeased with the cheapest item in the shop; a piece of meat. Amazing artwork. 😂

For me it has to be that mat I saw with my homey Metalmamemon and Metalgreymon fighting in a reference to the opening of Digimon World, although, one which is argueably cooler, and granted not really a callback, is another mat with a brush painting of Machinedramon, looking kind of like the character art Konami did for Metal Gear Solid, making him look like a Metal Gear, which actually made the guy who owned it like it even more!

Lot of anime references for the most part but my favorites are the Gabumon and Tanemon references to the OG Digimon World along with your #1 Penguinmon reference to Curling also from DW1 along with MetalMamemon whom if recruited to File City is an Advanced Curling player and the cherry on top to add is the Blucomon. I have to add that the new Metalgreymon virus type card also looks like it is a reference to DW1 because the background where he is standing looks like Mt Infinity where you actually fight him at the end of the game just before Analogman and his Machinedramon. Great list though thank you for these awesome detailed easter eggs I really enjoyed em and I learned of Ogremon’s Mega too cheers!!

9:37 Mazenmon is a reference to the first Digimon Card game, however, the fight of MetalMamemon vs MetalGreymon is also a reference, but to the intro cutscene of Digimon World 1 launched in 1999 in Japan and in 2001 North America. Said game is also referenced in the card Analog Youth. Dunno if you both chose to not talk about them or simply missed both. Still a cool video.

The non alt metalgreymon artwork is also a reference to Digimon world 1, it's the metalgreymon you fight before fights the final boss of the game, if you look at the area he's standing in its clearly mt. Infinity.
