Thank you. Until my stroke I could remember every day, every shoot, in my head. I'm now desperately trying to pull together every single shoot and every single group into some sort of software ... checking this one out, and it seems to be working well. Your examples (for back when I actually had a decent shoot list) works well. Now to integrate into PJ. Seriously... Thank you.

Wow, Alec Watson, absolutely the best advice and tutorial on DAM I've ever seen! I can't wait to get going on ACDsee. I really need help, having 5K-10K photos, RAF's and Jpegs, and trying to keep them organized on a PC, a Mac, and with Icloud; just can't do it. Thanks!

Great video. Used ACDSee Pro versions for many years. The digital asset management has been one of the defining functions to allow us to find individual images in a huge archive. Am following the videos to further my knowledge even more. Keep up the excellent work.

Very helpful, thanks. I have adopted your workflow process, which includes going through a shoot and creating and tagging with keywords FIRST. My question is, what happens AFTER you do that, and have "EMBEDded" the metadata into all those shots (let's say a wedding shoot), but then as you are editing the shots in the shoot, you realize you need to add more keywords, or adjust some? Do you have to go back through the whole embedding process again?

Hi there from Germany, I used to get trained on photoshop as so many of us in the pro field of photography, but I discovered ACDSee products when a friend traveling a lot recommended them to me, I became a huge fan. I have a master degree in photography and journalism using different ACDSee editors and management tools. What I also like is the easy way to check out and purchase the products.

When you say it embedded data to image, does it do to RAW or only JPEG images? Can it be read by other program as well or is it limited to this program? Reason I am asking is that what if I want to use other program in future?

Very informative. But how do I check if the keywords were embedded succesfully? Thanks!

Does ACDSee still not support editing metadata in video? HIEC, HIEF, HEVC?

is there an online version of digital asset management? we have multiple teams at multiple locations requesting photography to our studio in 1 location?

When embedding the meta into the actual file, is that data compatible with other DAM software? e.g., if i need to use Bridge on an entirely different machine for any reason?

Q: How do we DAM with PNG & SVG files? Are our searches and DAM still functional within ACDSee without embedding the metadata?

Check www.zoner.com - once you enable (third page in settings) other files, you can work with any filetype (videos included). It uses open metadata format like xmp so you can attach keywords, stars, color tags, description...

Is there an application for DAM?? Is it open source? Is it possible to use it in cloud computing?

Thank you for this video and thank you for stressing the importance of a DAM solution. My question is: Can I use ACDSee to manage photos in a team as well? Can several users share a single database so that user A sees the meta data user B has added to a picture?

LOL is there a Love Button I can Click instead of a Like Button. I need this program in my life! I have been looking for a solution like this ever since I learned how to use Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Bridge back in 2013. Where has this program been all my life and how do I get it and the proper instruction for it? Also if you have adobe Creative Cloud 2020 would that conflict in any way with ACDsee?

They don't clash in any way. You can even use ACDSee to run specific operations through photoshop for example as an external editor.

Nice video, I think you should add "for photographers" in the video title.

A BIG caveat, I believe. You state that the keyword data you add is 'embeded' in the file. I read on the ACDsee technical pages that does NOT happen in RAW and some other formats. In those cases a sidecar file is linked. Please clarify as moving JUST the raw file from driive to drive using an O/S file manager would lose (not copy) the sidecar and ACDsee keywords. Thanks.

Hi Paul, thank you for your feedback. We will be sure to be clear in future videos.
@alecwatson92153 жыл бұрын
HI Paul! Thanks for the comment! Clarity on this - I move with the OS File manager all the time. You are right if I just move one file, I'd have to be careful to make sure I take the sidecar file with it, but copying/moving a folder - everything goes with it and if I'm moving from drive to drive, I move it all ;-)

@@alecwatson9215 thanks, sure I do the same with W10, BUT for non tech savvy or inexperienced watchers the video implies otherwise. Cheers.
