My family’s strategy when me and my sibs were real little (4 the most part it still is) is to try to go in the early morning, go back to the room at 11ish and take a nap or go to the pool. Then we’d go back at around 4. It worked pretty well, especially at bay lake towers. We could just walk back to the room in like 5 minutes!

My older brother is a special needs guy, he might be 30 in body but his mental state is definitely that of a toddler. He loves the Pooh Bear ride, and the Kilimanjaro Safari. When we are there we always ride those at least five times each. He, with his issues, finds It's a Small World to be a little too much happening. He loves the Peter Pan ride too. A pro tip; I have found that the Rider Switch also works if you are the caregiver of a special needs adult, 100% of the time when I have explained to cast members that we are switching because we are caring for a special needs person, not a child, they have been completely fine with it. So don't think Rider Switch is only for people with kids. :) At least in my experience.

Sorry but I'm still kinda afraid of Journey Into Imagination and I was terrified of it as a kid. I know kids are scared of different things but you completely forgot the sound test room where it goes PITCH BLACK and a loud train noise blares and wind is blown on you. My 2 year old really got freaked out on the people mover. Going through space mountain, pitch black of course, but there was a moment that I don’t remember from previous rides, it was pitch black dark for about 30 seconds after we just went through space mountain. No sounds, no lights. Couldn’t see the hand in front of you. We were in pitch black darkness for about 2 minutes. It absolutely gave her anxiety about all dark rides after this. She even rode pirates before the people mover and LOVED it. She was freaked out on Nemo, little Mermaid, frozen 😩 it was awful.

We went with another family in November, they had their 3 year old with them. They left me with the task of planning the rides, etc. Your list is very close to what i came up with. Note that discussion with the child before riding solves lots of things. Our then 4 y/o granddaughter worried re Dumbo (her parents suffer from motion sickness), but i talked with her about how i would ride with her AND she would be in charge of how high she would make us fly. It worked and then when we went to AK & she saw the green dinosaurs she immediately identified it as like the Dumbo ride and she wanted to get on it now -- easy for that ride. We also discussed Haunted Mansion and that nothing would hurt her -- the ride is a party, so she rode it without issues. Little ones who watch Disney TV are primed to trust Disney and want to experience. The adults tend to be more concerned than the kids. Don't stress and the kids will be fine.
