Thanks for the review! I didn't know they had a newer version. I need to get some totems and it's nice to have affordable options.

Thank you for the video. can you what moving heads are those? also, do you think you can transport without breaking down?

I learned about these from Lavish Life and bought 2. They've been great for me. Wish they were a little cheaper in cost but still awesome.

how low this totem can go, my RTP32 is 39" and I'm looking for a lower one. On specs, they both start from 39" but this RTPGO is 3 sections and I assumed that RTP GO is lower the RTP32. Let me know please, I need to get this if this is lower than 39"

I just strengthened the welds for the threaded inserts on both top and bottom plates and transport it in a truss bag. Base plates in their own bags and the top plates stay on. A single truss bag leaves them half assembled and expedites the process significantly. Stronger welds means less likelihood of breaking (which is known to happen to these).
@DJDarylBennett10 ай бұрын
That's a great idea!

@@DJDarylBennett Thanks! I also stopped using the hand screws and use the bolts instead, too. A wrench or driver makes really short work of them. Don't need to be tight, so you don't need much. Still have the handscrews in the bag just in case, but really never use them.

I have used the rtp-go for a year now and it has been great. I take them apart for transport because I can put it together in 3 minutes. Sure it would be nice to have it already assembled, but when I have all my gear for an event it just not enough space. I have three rtp go and will be adding another one. Because I use two for my prime4 dj console base to add another look to my setup sometimes. Some events I have are open house events for realty companies and I will use one rtp-go and set my prime go on it and its just perfect because I can have it at the perfect height and it looks so nice, with the white scrim and an uplight. Then I place my mackie thump go's on the other two rtp-go stands and it's a great presentation and it fits in a small corner in the model home. They also just posted a video of their battery powered effect light (bd20 derby). I will be adding it to my arsenal. Battery and wifi dmx. So perfect for my children's museum events. The kids love the effects lights hitting the floor.

How did you get a mover on a gravity stand ? I have a dozen stands and I would like to use them more please.
@DJDarylBennett10 ай бұрын
It really depends on the mover, maybe I'll make another video. I show you in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaexZ6KjoL1lkLssi=WngTWLkF3fd67Uzq&t=93

When you put the Totem to its shortest height, how tall is it?
@IamDJFTR10 ай бұрын
Good video! A big pain of the older model was you had to insert the screw into the hole, and that was the time consuming part if you were off by just a bit, or you had to hold it in place so it doesn't fall over before you screwed it in. Man doing it for the top base plated royally frustrated me haha. The fact that they reversed it and you basically just tighten it over screws sticking out from the baseplates does significantly improve set up time and tear down and make it far less of a pain for those of us who do like to collapse it for compact travel.

Funny you mentioned gravity stands. It seems like every dj is moving to a gravity stand but I don’t think they look nice. These trusses look soo much more sleek and presentable

hey Daryl, this is a good review, I didn't know that they have a new version. I bought RTP32 and stretched it to the highest, and put my Shehds JMS WEBB LED Beam+Wash Big Bees Eyes 19x20W but when the unit started to move, the Totem started to wobble a bit and I was scared it might fall or collapse the base that handles the screws, using hand screws is even worst, I used bolts and wrench. It seems that this RTP GO is stronger than RTP32. The RTP32 nuts in the base plate just had 2 spot welding on each bolt for each nut. What is your experience with RTP32 totem with JMS WEEB?
@DJDarylBennett10 ай бұрын
I mostly used those with my gravity stands which were super solid. The go is about as stable as the 32. I'm not afraid they'll collapse. I'm not afraid of it toppling over right next to my dj booth. I put a sandbag on it when not next to my dj station

Yea we dislike having to disassemble but the 8ft ones do not transport very well standing up in a trailer. I’ve had to replace both bases on them
@DJDarylBennett10 ай бұрын
The RTP32's do great standing up in my 5x8 trailer. I've had the top plate break on one of mine RTP32's

Appreciate the video because I didn't know about these... But it just solidified me that I'm fine with sticking with my original rtps... I collapse and reassemble mine at every gig and it takes all of >4 minutes to do them honestly.... So like you mentioned in the video, unless you just absolutely want this thing to get a little smaller... It ain't worth the upgrade.

Glad it was helpful! We don’t always need to upgrade

Hey Daryl this is a silly question but is there some illumination that comes through when using the black scrim or does the black scrim completely mute the uplighting inside the totem?

Not a silly question! It's not thick enough to completely mute the uplighting

don't buy the pros versions they only go up to 6ft and that has had an affect on my lighting sometimes when a 6'3 guy like myself stands in front of it over all this is a better version for multiple looks

I really cannot see any good reason to buy totems. Just get a good wind up Global-Truss system, either 2,3 or 4 Point trusses. That allows you to fly a sound array and much more. 4 Meters of Truss gets you so much more than a totem
@DJDarylBennett9 ай бұрын
Totems provide a minimalist design that’s easy to deploy, providing the functionality of raising your lights above people’s heads. You’re paying for the look and the convenience. I personally don’t enjoy setting up crank stand trussing and I feel like it looks imposing at weddings, especially when there’s not a ton of room
