When we have a client who wants a harsh primary color blue, green, purple etc. We work with them to include a complimentary color from their wedding colors, and alternate them to restore the rooms white balance. So maybe blue with yellow, purple and ivory, green and a pastel light green/cream. It makes for much better pictures, and peoples IG posts don't look like a room full of Smurfs (blue) or aliens (green) etc.

Yo I didn't think I would learn anything here but you did actually give me a huge take away. The changing of the lights for slow dances is actually a really great idea. I'll be honest I normally just do 1 color all night maybe shift them to bounce to the music but never thought about setting the mood for a slow dance.

Ha! I used to message with Kitten but never bought their Chinese lights! Love the video and agree with you all around. I use Rainbow Lights and they look identical to Both Lighting lights. I like to add a couple uplights under the floral arch by the sweethearts table and two of those bricks shooting across the dance floor on a different channel. Classy gold or warm white for dinner and first dances and save the brighter colors for the dance party. Change the uplights when the chorus hits and it's cued perfectly. That sparkle effect is nice, going to look into the Wolf Mix

Great video brother. I agree 100% with your idea about uplights. I've been using the Rockville RF3 for a while now and they do the job for me. Been using the remote but I got a Wolfmix over the summer and now that I'm slow, I'm going to get deeper with it. I love the idea of lighting the entry door. I missed that part in my setup - I typically strobe the room (after making sure it is OK with the client) or do quick color changes when doing my intros to bring up the energy. I'll focus more on the doorway from now on. Nearly a 40-year vet here and there is always something to learn!

Great video. Full of insightful advise ❤ 2 comments to help the debate: - all uplights are coming from same manufacturers in China. Wherever you buy them it is from the same production benches and same components. Having a local brand (Europe one, US one, etc) putting their logo on it does not make the product better. We are paying +50% of the price to get the brand name on it with the customer service. Those devices are easy to repair so my personnal opinion is you dont need the local brand. Dealing straight with Chinese buyers is fine and affordable which I strongly recommend. - I used to play with the mobile app and it is fine for small shows (not wedding) like bars or private party where we are not pay enough to bring all the light stuffs 😅. It is definitely not a dmx program (i am wolfmix user too) but good enough for color switch, fade, jump, strob and dimmer function

I like to give you feedback... I didn't saw your last few videos, so I don't know since when you have this new video style, but I really like it. I think the difference is "Everybody can sit in a bedroom, because he's not landed outside. But with this style I can see that you talk from the real world (and the related experiences) - and not talking from the bedroom phantasies." I know you are working outside anyways since a long time, but this style really gives you another style with more seriousness. Good change in style! i dont mind the primary colors because they cut through the ambient light, better, but my theory is always have one dominant color and one accent color, so if you are going to do all red, put one green light somewhere, or all blue with a red light somewhre, or all cyan with amber. pink + green etc. this gives the feeling of color depth, and it makes the colors look nicer when they are juxtaposed against eachother, and it makes photos and videos look a lot better because you know that it is a full color image rather than an image with some wierd filter on it. if it is all one color that makes it flat and claustrophobic and ruins photos.

Getting into the wedding scene and investing into my first lights so this one came in clutch! What do you think about "retro" white/amber lamps? Kinda popular in my area now. Also what about movers/beams/lasers/fx? Photographers hate those and I also don't wanna make people have colorful dots on their faces on photos, but maybe there is a way and a place to use those? Big UP!✨
