Are there any Engwe EBikes on the list? You could look at the C20, L20, P26 or Engine X. I haven't tried them yet personally but they are road legal bikes that meet the EU and UK regulations.

Bro, this is not the best ebike under 2k... there are so many better bikes out there in this price bracket, from ribble, haibike, giant... etc. This is a cheap chinese knock off piece of crap thats dangerous, unregulated and illegal.

The brands you mention do feature a few bikes just under £2000 BUT they are the most basic models they do. They don't match up with the features of the x24. If I've missed any please tell me specific models. Why do you think it's dangerous? It's a really fun bike and has such a large battery capacity!

@@Rush-Media well for a start the triple suspension system is pointless, they'll be working against eachother most likely, the brakes will be low quality and suffer brake fade at high speeds and intensity, it's hub driven with no restrictor, it's 1200w which is highly illegal, it's got a throttle which again, is illegal, it goes over 25kmh without input off the rider, again, illegal. The batteries won't have the same quality control that the brands I mentioned will have, they will also be using cheap cells which is a no go on anything, lithium batteries are extremely dangerous if not taken extreme care of. The forks are extremely cheap and will start to fail very quick in one way or another... theres a lot that's wrong with that bike which makes it very dangerous

So on the brake fade issue, that's something that can affect even the most expensive brake sets. But your choice of brake pad can help, as well as larger disc rotors (the x24 has larger 180mm discs). It's not something I've found a problem on this bike but I will look out for it. You keep mentioning illegal, nothing is inherently illegal about the more powerful hub motor. You just have to check your local laws to see if you can ride this on the road without restricting it. On the batteries, all I can say is. Engwe are a trusted ebike brand sold by major retailers all over the world. The bottom line for me is, to get these features in the brands you mention, you have to spend a lot more. And there is definitely an issue if diminishing returns when it comes to bikes. I do however appreciate your concern with some of the components but so far so good for me and many other happy users of these bikes. I do wonder if you've even got first hand experience with Engwe bikes to have such a strong opinion? Please forgive the long message and I appreciate your perspective on this.

@@Rush-Media I have worked in many bikes of all shapes and sizes, I've worked on these too. As a bike mechanic we see an awful lot of these bikes coming with all manor of problems, something I didn't mention is that they use older industry standards for the most part of these, so that makes replacing parts or upgrading very hard. You are correct, even the most expensive brakes can experience brake fade, but with the power that thing is kicking out, it's gonna be a bigger issue in my eyes. I suppose for a lot of people this bike would be fine, it's just an inherent risk for me that there's a lot that can go wrong with them bikes, I've seen it a lot sadly. The hub motor is not illegal, I said the fact it's unrestricted (goes above 25kmph) without rider input is what I was saying. For 2k, it's all good until it gets taken off you, then it's not the best bike for 2k. Not many people will know and understand the risks they're taking with this bike.

​@@beneadesmtb your comments intended to be negative from the start. Obviously biased against Chinese ebikes and selecting assumed negative points to fit the narrative. The triple suspension maybe be over kill but almost all reviewers stare it's a comfortable smooth ride so something must be working. Unrestricted power and speed is a positive thing and nobody lings for under powered like in the uk legal 250 watt motors currently for sale in backward Britain. The government can't even decide on e vehicle laws. This idea can currently be bought for £1350 in uk in the sales. You don't expect top quality components for under 2k so it's a complete bargain at those prices and the components on it are far better then poor as you described. Every bike wears depending on useage. It doesn't look shoddy workmanship either as you like to view it. Twin batteries as well for such a low price. These bikes have improved immensely the past few years
