i have a 07 sti i cant get the covers off of that roof vane to save my life , should i take the wing off first to get the caps off ??? or is it an angle thing ??

Did you get the little plastic clips on the inside part of the covers off first?

@@Raichu595 ya Lil plastic screws that are expanding clips on the inside . Removed those and still can't get it off . Feels like the caps about to snap lol cuz I'm yanking 😆 , about to order a Lil plastic pry tool and pray

@@bigbodykarate6403 if you got those off then you can also use a flathead screwdriver with some painters tape on the edge of it so that you don’t scratch up your paint! Stick it under the cap and twist! Should come right off after that. I don’t think it’ll break. I used that technique to pop a cap off a 190,000 mile STi and it survived just fine!

@@Raichu595 so when I bought it I saw it was tuned to 21 psi in stock intake dp intercooler and I figured it was hurting the car so I took it off with the accessport and it started up rough. After trying to figure out why, giving up, and eventually having my brother take over and getting it back from my brother I realized it’s cause of the secondary air pump. Since the previous owner deleted it I guess he tuned it and I didn’t know that lol. So I’m gonna install it back hoping that fixes the problem. Also because of that it doesn’t pass smog :(

Ahhhhh I see. Honestly I’m pretty sure you can find a used one on eBay or something. Maybe even Craigslist or Facebook. People are always parting out so I’m sure it’ll be easy to come across 1!

@@Raichu595 I managed to find one! I have a friend in San Diego and I found a junkyard in Chula Vista online and yeah bought the whole assembly. I just don’t know how it goes on the actual car I was hoping the newer EJ’s would be helpful for reference but they’re different. But man seeing your car makes me eager to fix mine.

I’m sure there’s a tutorial out there somewhere! Find an airpump delete tutorial online and follow it in reverse. Then you’ll have it on in no time! I’m eager to see it once it’s back on the road👀
