some of my favorite references that you didn't mention: in episode 7, trent is one of the mages that attacks ripley's town. in ep 10, there's a double reference: the pirates are playing the uk'otoa game and one of them says "your turn to roll". in 11, when vex and vax jump off ripley's burning boat, they're floating on a door and vex (i think) says "at least there's room for both of us on this thing." which is a reference to the titanic movie 😂 and in 12, velora is reading der katzenprinz, the book caleb reads to jester in c2.

My favorite subtle reference/easter egg still has to be from season one, where during the dinner with the Briarwoods, Vox Machina are speaking with each other subtly, and Vex hides her mouth with her fan, because she has the Observant feat and knows how to read lips, so she's the only one aware of the fact someone else might do that to her as well. I specifically like the fact that instead of showing her directly reading lips, they imply she has that ability by having her protect her own lips from being read. A very clever extra step, that makes it a fun reference for those who know, while not even being something worth registering for those who don't.

People forget that SPICE is NOT a drug. Scanlan asks Jarett about bringing something back from his homeland, Ank'harel, and Jarett asks for Fusaka. Fusaka is a harmless spice for seasoning food, but SAM/SCANLAN is the one to mistake it for an illegal substance. He goes around asking people about 'spice' like it's taboo and created the "Do you spice?" meme. Scanlan gets conned by a pair of dudes pretending to deal black market "spice" just to be sadly disappointed when he presents the Fusaka to Jarett and learned he overpaid by like 10 times. The ACTUAL drug, he later aquires from Jarett, is called "Suude".

Keyfish happened in the episode when Pikes family, the Trickfoots appeared in Whitestone. At the time Tary was with the group. He gave Vex a coin of revivify, which she used to revive keyleth after the keyfish disaster. 😅

I believe they mentioned in the half-time stream after the first 6 episodes were out, that the skull was a reference to the nightmare king, not the skull in campaign 1. Might be confusing things, but I'm pretty sure I heard that.

Keyleth jumped 1000ft, yes. However, Matt rolled 100D6 of fall damage, which the DMG states that fall damage is 1D6 per 10ft fallen, but with a maximum of 20D6. Matt over-rolled the damage and technically... Keyleth WOULD have survived, losing 1hp from the goldfish and a MAX of 119 fall damage out of her own HP instead of the 370-something she took, overclocking her HP and instantly dying.

Yeah, it seems like they didn't really bother to make that distinction in the animated show... Curious to see if that's going to affect the demon invasion storyline from campaign 2.

@@AndreyKrichevsky Yep, I thought that was really a miss, although it was vox machina calling them demons and you could say that they're not experts in the field. The actual CR players themselves confuse the 2 to this day!

@@JediMasterZao Well, in this video you can see a scene where J'mon Sa Ord refers to Zerxus as a demon, even though he would be a devil, so i think they might have just dropped the distinction to simplify it for he audience.
