25 years ago, I was single, good looking, built and partied hard......now I’m married with children, don’t go out a lot and I’m here on a Sunday night watching “keychain knife review videos”! What the hell happened.

Andy you grew up. Your life is probably better now than before because while the glamor of bachelorhood looks nice you soon realized that it is cold and unfulfilling. No one besides your friends really care for you, and unless you live with them, you have no one to go home too. Just a cold empty apartment. No one to lie next to, or at least no one that truly cares.

Great job. I love your videos man. I like these reviews of multiple items in a price group. Really smart way to do fairly comprehensive reviews of lots of products in one shot. I’ve never tried the Kershaw Cinder, but I’ve loved most of the kershaw and KAI products I’ve found. They don’t hesitate to think outside the box and they execute their odd designs VERY well. For a sleeper product, try their fabric shears/scissors. I never thought I’d appreciate scissors so much.

Just picked up a Cinder for my wife, she’s stoked for it. You should definitely check out some more Kershaw blades, they’re the vast majority of what I use simply because I’ve never had a bad knife from them. The Leek series is my favorite, it’s very slim and has amazing edge retention. I just wish they made more fixed-blade models, I’ve only ever seen their throwing knives in stores before.

I have a few Kershaws. My favorite company for bang/buck. I'll have to pick one of those up. I have a CRKT neck knife. Forget the model. It's super handy, and I imagine it would be really useful for float tubers and kayakers or anyone who may need to get a knife out while seated. The steel doesn't hold an edge that well, but on the flipside it's really easy to resharpen.

I believe you had gotten a defect Slidewinder, was surprised to see it as the worst knife to start it off. Mine has never had an issue with poking out while closed, it doesnt totally lock up however I've always had a pinch grip on it, holding the lock down against the frame so it wont slip back down. Been a great little back up/more accepted knife to pull out daily for years now, always sharp!

You can get a sanrenmu and be done with it if you want a keychain knife. They have whatever flavor you want, lockbacks, slipjoints, frame/linerlock... They are very sharp out of the box, great fit&finish (well mostly, depends on your luck) and are as cheap if not cheaper than the Amazon trash you are showing. I have the 6040 and it is awsome.

I think the knife is one of the most important tools to an angler. Something easy to use, sharp enough for braids and composite lines, and doesn't feel like a danger when your hand is wet or covered in fish slime. This is an awesome review for the channel and I actually watched it yesterday before you pulled it down to wait a day. I also went ahead and picked one of those kershaws up last night for 6.89 to keep on my kayak fishing NRS Chinook life vest. It will be a welcome tool.

In 1993 I was in Orlando on vacation I needed a knife to open a pack of batteries for my camera, ( back then we use to use cameras), the store had that bartach knife you had. I paid $1:00 for it. It's on my key chain now, I've used it every day since 1993! Basically for opening boxes and stuff like that. Do you happen to know of a better quality knife that is just like the bartech! I like the size and the half seration.

Hey I see you re-uploaded the vid. I wasn't able to get the response from the previous comment regarding durability for surf applications. Could you re-iterate? Also, do you have opinions on edge retention, ease of sharpening, durability and corrosion resistance of H1 Steel vs LC200N steel as they would pertain to use in surf fishing applications? (I am aware of H1 tendency to surface scratch. I'm completely indifferent to cosmetic issues and am only concerned with function and practicality.),.Thanks.

even if it is just to open a package, I do like to have a small blade when I travel. but I carry a folding blade that uses full size utility razor blades. then I can stop at any hardware store and get a small pack of them when I get to my destination, since it folds, not slides in and out it is safe, and uses blades you can destroy and not care. I actually carry it edc when I have my good knives with me, so if someone wants to use a knife real quick, I can let them and not kill them if they destroy the edge.

For exacto blade knives the best are the Korcraft everyday blade and the Gerber pry bird. They are amazing and you can remove the blades easily without tools. So if it’s an exfacto you can replace the blade, or travel with it.

Just as an FYI, the Spyderco knives (Honeybee and Grasshopper--I can't find my Bug to check) are fantastic firesteel strikers. Use the back of the blade with the knife closed. They work really well with my firesteel.com steel--don't know about other firesteel brands, though.

Tackle Advisors the only way to buy the H1 Salt Knives is go serrated. The plain edge has terrible edge retention. H1 is “work hardened” and when they serrate it, it makes it incredibly hard and gives tremendous edge retention. LC200N is the best though. Same corrosion resistance as H1 but significantly better edge retention in plain edge! My Native 5 Salt in LC200N is my designated fishing companion. Also carry a Serrated Aqua Salt fixed blade while fishing just because! Any recommendations on a good rod for a Penn Spinfisher VI 2500? Absolutely love this reel. More so than my Stradic and Tatula surprisingly!!

Lol some are just awful all around. I will say you usually have to really look. Lowes used to carry a Kobalt type of utility knife that had the licking clasp to hold the blades on and a locking joint in the center. I still have it after using it tons because the locks held up amazing, but the newer ones I had looked at aren't designed the same way, and usually inside the plastic so you really can't tell without buying it and returning if you don't like it lol. I will say a set of cheap kitchen knives that work well all around are the Old Hickory line. Think several have used the butcher type in survival vids on here lol. It's just a high carbon steel that takes an edge really good, and actually retains it really well.

Waste of money for most of these. I mean, if you're wanting a cheap, dependable, disposable blade type thing, you can get a Gerber EAB? I think that's the name. It's just a metal holder for razor blades. I'd just go with that if you're going to go this route.
