I tried the Nashor > Shadowflame rush in my most recent game, and this was after I had a game or two adjusting to no Rocketbelt rush. It worked especially well due to the enemy being 3 melees top/jung/mid. With proper jungle pathing, I was able to steal camps from the sylas frequently and get off some good ganks, only dying due to some bad decisions (facechecking mid-bot river brush AFTER drag was taken by Sylas 30s ago; starting Rift with no Prio/Enemy sprinting out of base; and overplaying in blue-side blue buff after Baron). I had to drag my team around though, they just loved to NARAM sprint it down.

im a big xiao lao ban fan (chinese ekko 1 trick) and hes been exclusively playing this build! good to know something solid came out while i was busy fkin with new items xD

I played a few games with this build yesterday and today after he posted the video and this build feels a lot better than the variations i had tried so far. rocketbelt is dead

I'd like your opinion on this: Everyone arguing for Rocketbelt always mentions the dash which of course is the main selling point of it, but we should remember that Rocketbelt is the ONLY item (besides Mejai's) that Ekko typically builds that offers any amount of hp (300 hp). Think about how many times you are in a fight, get CCed, but can still press R with close to 1 hp. I think that 300 hp from Rocketbelt is incredibly important. Another point is that Ekko is going to spike hardest at 2-3 items so having the hp from rushing Rocketbelt will allow you to more safely and consistently make it to those spikes without dying. I would only consider not building Rocketbelt if I was smurfing or found myself incredibly ahead on my first or 2nd base. The fact that Rocketbelt and Lichbane both have a Hextech Alternator in their build paths allows you to make this decision on probably your 2nd base. This idea is similar to building Rabadon's 2nd when really ahead to continue your snowball. This is all just food for thought. I'm just saying my theory on it. I'm talking about Ekko jungle btw, I don't play mid.

Yeah I agree with you generally. We will honestly just have to wait and see how items get changed and how people start building in the next few weeks.

it depends on how comfortable you are with either option, each one is a good option but if you're playing against a jungler that clears much faster than you, you can go nashors first to match tempo

Can someone explain at 2:35 when he is talking about how the Nekko W is useless against Ekko?

I think because he hit Neeko first with an ability she got stacks showing around her. After she used W Ekko could still see the stacks so he knew which one was the real one. (Basically the clone does not spawn with stacks on it)

Nope, I think it’s still better than mid w/ the 700g cheaper rocketbelt

I think it's playable but there are definitely stronger champs.

It almost seems like u made this video just to poop on the build. I've been running this b4 this video to great success. rocket belt is a great ekko build but this is also. You don't always have to rely on lichbane procs or missing your passive when you connect and miss your q because hail of blades with nashor will get it done. Ability haste on ekko is massive and way more favored in my experience.
