I pulled 4 back molars out myself in the past two years Scotty. My dad, Captain Joseph T Baldwin MD (WW2/Korea. USAAF), said, "Barnacles and body rot." The back molars were broken years ago boxing and in car accidents. I also had braces as a kid. The molars started getting lose, and after 6 months of eating soup, they began falling out. Now I can eat steak again. At least they are in the back. Can't tell they are gone really. My romance days are over anyway.....😃

I have a question sir, my break pedals are stiff but work fine as usual and breaks good. They just are stiff and remains stiff even when engine is off. Even if you press it multiple times while engine is off it won’t go completely stiff like a normal break would. It would just remain a little stiff but would still be able to push down even if you push it 100x. Have any ideas??
@stevenekdahl7124

@@chickenwings5429 check the power booster that's where I would start, check vacuum to booster and the check valve on the booster, there is also a filter pad at the back of the booster that can get clogged and slow down the air that's trying to enter the booster when the brake pedal is pressed.

I don’t know if anyone else has said this but the V-4 engine in SAAB cars was a regular four stroke. The two stroke that Scotty inadvertently mixed up with it was a Three cylinder engine that SAAB used for decades until the advent of pollution controls made two stokes no longer usable for automobiles. This happened around 1968 or so.

Yes! I had a ‘72 Saab 96 with the V4. I heard it was 1/2 of a Ford 289! I sold it when a machinist remarked, “I know about those cars. I hand made a water pump for one because there weren’t any around.” This was in the 80’s. I sold it soon after. But it was a neat car. Had freewheeling. 4 speed on the column. No one seemed to know how to find reverse, so I ended up backing it out of places where I had it worked on.

In my 2022 Mazda turbo, a GDI engine, a little fuel gets in the oil. The main advantage Amsoil has is its longer potential mileage. Since I change oil every 4,000 instead of 7,000, I use the second best, the Pennzoil ultra platinum. It’s good oil and much cheaper than the Amsoil. Oem filter always. Another reason to change more frequently is the tiny oil filter on the car.

My 1965, 1967 Buicks have filters on their power units and my former 1968 as were as my current 1975 Buick have filters in their transducers. Can't get new replacement ones but you can cut a piece of foam filter to replace them.

Blackstone will test it and tell you how the oil performed during that cycle. They base it on how much metal meterial is in the sample and how much the anti wear additives and detergents how been used up.

Scotty, I came across something that I would like to share with your viewers. I have owned the 1999 second generation Dodge ram Cummins diesel 2500 for many years and I’ve gotten to learn much about its various components. For example, I noticed one day the overdrive was not working. You know the button at the end of the shifter handle. I went on Google. I did some research and this is what I found. If you pop out the button, it’s easy to pull out clean the two connecting ends and put it back in. It will fix the problem.

don’t go too cheap on oil. A quality synthetic changed whenever your oil analysis results tells you to (the point at which wear metals start to accelerate in quantity + oxidation value rises) and you’ll be fine.

@Bill-tz3wg
@Bill-tz3wg 11 күн бұрын
And what's that analysis which yields the observation that oxidation value and metal wear have reached the point at which the oil needs to be changed. I'm going to guess the test is looking at the oil and noticing the color has changed but your answer is so fancy I'm leaving room that you might be talking about something else.

Conv Valvoline 4cycle motorcycle for for $6 a quart. 1.5qts an oil change. No filter and motorcycles use engine oil in the clutch/gears so I change every 3000mi. It has 64000 miles. Metal to metal needs lubrication. Refineries filter product. Oil filters clean oil for at least 10k. Mostly the oil sermon priests are just doing incantations. Shitty motors don't last long. Loathe as I am to correct Scotty, I will suggest an alternative to the dash repair question: Bondo. That's how you fix a broken plastic dash. Trim any jagged or raised sections, patch with Bondo as directed by the product packaging. For those unfamiliar, Bondo is a polyester paste that turns into a semi-rigid plastic when cured. It's quite often used in bumper repair, but like, you can craft with it, you can use it as a construction material, the stuff is really brilliant if you get creative. Not food safe though, do not try to make cutting boards or bowls out of it, and no aquarium products for your favorite aquarium dweller. Probably not suggested for sex toys either.

I’ve used near every single brand of synthetic motor oil in my 15’ Subaru Forester. It’s at 240k and running strong. I even took one mechanics advice of using 5 20w oil in the a couple of winters. No issues as long as it’s changed every 5k miles. Manufacturer recommends changing oil at 7k but in my experience with my own car, the 2.5i boxer engine needs oil added to it by the time 5k hits. Therefore, the oil is changed at 5k.

In a '91 3000gt v6 dohc, when i used synthentic blend, the engine would make a ticking sound when 1st started after sitting a long time & the tick would disappear when eng was warmed up. Does it turn into natural gas and burn it like gas. You have gas being burned in the combustion chamber and then the oil leaks into the combustion chamber from the oil pan?

Tried full synthetic oil in my 4.3 silverado and I was getting more oil leak and (probably) burning oil. Oil went from full to bottom of the dipstick in 1000 miles. Switched back to all natural oil (STP brand), filled it to half-way on the dipstick hash, and it's still at that level 800 miles later. Not sure what would be causing this. Yes, both oils were 5w-30.

@Cupcardriver Agreed! I tried their dynamic engine restoration system to flush out an old camry I bought for cheap back in 2020(at 190k mi., now 241,000mi.). Which had been neglected by its previous owners. I could tell they didn't change the oil nearly as often as they should've, and parked it under a tree for months, if not yrs. If I had known about the restoration system when I first bought the car, I would've ran it through the engine as soon as I could. After performing all the routine maintenance the car needed, and switching the car to the high mileage platinum synthetic from Pennzoil, which helped out immensely. But after running the flush earlier this yr, it runs even better now! Thankfully, when I was draining the flush after it had done its job, the flushing fluids weren't much darker than when they went in. It flowed out of the drain smoothly in a clear, light brown color(no sludge buildup). I'm so glad I can find the high mileage platinum at walmart along with the toyota OE oil filter. I love that old car! Still drives like new, barely burns any oil, doesn't leak, dirt cheap to own, and still gets 30+mpg!😆😆😆😆

Now it's run normal with a new installed summer tires. So the lesson learned here is when you cars sway to one side and it eat out your rubber, it's may not be the alignment problem
