Riga Latvia just might be the best Christmas market out there - the tree still fills my heart with joy and the people were SO SO KIND! 🎄🇱🇻

Historic trivia. That square where Christmas market was located actually is the place where first decorated Christmas tree in world came from.

Amazing! Those bunnies look soo cute (and tasty 🤭) I love the colours of the buildings in the background of the market too. It'd be interesting to see a comparison of a wintery xmas to our Aussie xmas.

Really nice videos about baltic states👌 One thing I would suggest if you ever have the chance is to visit Latvia at 23-24th of June when we celebrate summer festival, not only the markets are old school festive but the whole country👍 Good luck in your upcoming adventures!

Love this one, it looks like the Christmas movies we watch every year with all the snow and the beautiful twinkly Christmas decorations, certainly different to our Aussie hot Christmas. It makes me happy seeing you both so excited to finally go to these beautiful Christmas markets that has been on your bucket list for a very long time. And you looked warmer this time, apart from the forgotten beanie of course. Miss you both, love you, mum.xx 🎄🎄

Greetings to our beloved neighbours from Vilnius! Your market looks much more like a proper Xmas market than our Vilnius one. We can only hope that with the looming change of the Vilnius mayor we'll catch up! Happy New Year everyone ❤💛💙

Not if we can help it 😅 But the question is where to go next year?!

@@JordanandEmily I'd say the US but it's difficult to travel from City to City on a budget. There's always Austria-Germany-Switzerland. Not always cheap (especially Switzerland) but transportation is super efficient. OR - Travel around Australia for a while?

Traditionally protestant countries have the big Christmas Markets tradition. That is why Germany is probably most famous of them. Latvia is protestant, while Lithuania is traditionally catholic - Christmas Markets here is not a tradition, just a recent imported trend.

As someone who has spent many festive weeks in Germany, I would not have considered Riga for a Christmas break but I think it’s on the list now thanks to this video! Looking forward to the Tallin edition too, then I hope you have a lovely family Christmas in the heat of Australia and a 2023 that sees your subscriber count grow to the heights you deserve!! 😊🎄✨

Ooh we have heard only amazing things about the German Christmas markets! Hopefully we can make it there one day too - did you have any favourites?! Thank you so much - comments like this really keep us going! Hire you have a lovely festive period as well! Bring on 2023 (can't believe we are almost in 2023 🤯)

@@JordanandEmily my favourites are affected by the friends I was with, and some were in very small towns! For bigger towns, Heidelberg and Munich stand out, but maybe not objectively 😉

Great film. So much hard work on the filming front Jordan! You are a hero. I felt so sad when you forgot your hat. Can I ask what your schedule is? Two films a week is a lot. Do you also allow days off? So you preferred Riga so far? This tour is an epic idea and much more interesting than the established European Markets, especially the traditions. That donkey was the cutest....

Thank you! appreciate the recognition ☺️ making videos definitely takes more work than we thought it would! We are started to post every second day, then wen't down to two a week and then back up to three a week! I think we are going to alternate between posting a video weekly or twice a week so we can keep a bit of consistency!

I always understand mold wine instead of mulled wine. Very repulsive. But gloo wine instead of the Glühwein is also strange. Edit: It's not your fault! It's the strange English vocabulary for that beverage 😅

I know Aussi's like to drink a sip...but if You will keep on to drink all days 4 "Glühwein", You will not make it to after Christmas! 😅🤣☝️😇 Thebritish nations celebrate in priority "thanksgiving".. For us, germans, holy christmas time starts with thanksgiving in october,...then follows archangel Michaeli, who fights for the good, ...then, on nov.11th, Saint Martin, who gave his coat to a freezing poor man,...then, with the beginning of advent, on the 5. dec., Saint Nicholaus, who stands for the decision of people for good or bad, ... ...so constantly there is an increase of holyness, if the time gets darker and colder... the 21th dec is the turning point of light (sun begans to rise)...and on this point christmas is dated. Then follows on 6.jan. "Holy 3 KingsFestival"...a.s.o. Christmas time is finished in the beginning of february... some people keep their trees until that date... So, il there is such efforts to decorate, to bring happyness and love...it is our real hope for goodness and empathy! Frohe Weihnachten! 🌲🌰🍎
