A very interesting video clip Frank. I have heard this before about being able to play in different keys. But in the short time you spoke about it, you made more sense. Thank you for this info. I will take it forward with me on my journey to playing a keyboard

Yup makes sense! Hard work dedication and a genuine interest in learning is key to get good! To get really good at anything, there are no real shortcuts. We just maybe have different approaches, but everyone have to do the work.

Im in the situation where I play piano purely by ear but I can't read any music and I have not put any effort into understanding music. I believe I truly should take your tips here and get down with it.

very common way nowadays for beginners to start learning piano, I’m sure he’s just aware of that given the amount of potential newbies he’s spoken to on Omegle that all started in that same way. (I too first learned from .25x synthesia videos)

Hi Frank Just wanted to ask you if you knew the Venezuelan pianist and composer Gabriela Montero. She has been doing for years sort of what you do in your other chanel. After the serious, programmed parts of her concerts, she ask audience for a song to improvise on. She started young, there's a video of her in a concert with a big orchestra at the age of 8. But no improvisations after, at that age. About you, must be great making people happy with your music... José

My pops told me as a kid learn every key and the names of the chords!!! He use to make me practice every day circle of 4ths & 5ths both hands in every key!!! Now at age 44 I don’t have the issue of hitting the transpose button!!!

Musicians with perfect pitch find it harder to play tunes they know in different keys because their ear tells them it,s wrong . Relative pitch is a better asset for transposition.
@ryandixon8202
@ryandixon8202 Жыл бұрын
really? I feel that they would probably acknowledge that it sounds different sure but I doubt it would actually limit their ability to just play it in that new key - should they obviously be able to quickly and easily transpose and play in a new key. Is there a paper on this or are you potentially one of said musicians with perfect pitch that struggles with this?
@Mayflower018
@Mayflower018 4 ай бұрын
Reply to a year old comment 😅. Perfect pitch would allow them to know what they hear now is in a different key than the original. Whether they choose to be annoyed by that is up to them. Their ears don't hurt more because they hear a different key or even wrong notes they are just more likely to recognize than others without ear training. Yeah I wish more people appreciated Relative pitch too. People with only perfect pitch but no relative pitch would have trouble transposing, but less trouble than those without relative pitch and without perfect pitch
