Honestly, as mean as it is, i wish someone would have stopped Artumbo during the stage of writing the script, and pointed to the "F2P" in the name, or just have him delegate an entire section to "P2W/What banners to look out for if you're new", because all of new players after free 50 story pulls, will have a 5* standard banner character, and the direction of the first team, or even the content priority for the account changes drastically for it. Clara enabling you to do gold and gears/swarm when she's built Himeko swaps herta into priority target to level with pure fiction Bronya lands you perfectly in the middle of everything because she'll be your main harmony Welt fills in the debuff/nihility slot, although he's VERY difficult to build Bailu is an abundance slot filler, that then gets replaced by P2W abundance characters, or even lynx. YQ is a boss killer prime standard banner dps Gepard is your second team preservation slot, depending where fire mc goes Out of all of these, Welt is the least f2p friendly character, bronya being close second (due to how painfui it is to build hyperspeed characters that need multiple stat investing), while the rest of them are perfectly solid options that open up many different possibilities and routes to do content with, planning out replacements, etc. i wish THIS information was in the video, instead of kafka/swan/ruanmei being plastered as "GET THESE WHEN YOU CAN" And while we're talking about it, no mention of Topaz as the target banner for Ratio support upgrade hurts me on the inside. All in all, minus select few points i covered in this comment, solid video. But it really should have stayed in the cooker a bit longer.

really appreciate the feedback and i will say that's a massive oversight on my part for not dedicating an entire section to just that every player that progresses past the initial part of the game will collect their free standard 5 star which is already account changing (which can be done before trailblaze level 20) one of the most important pieces of information, especially for newer players, is who to pull for (value for their account, possible upgrade paths, etc.) in hindsight i feel like i limited myself too much to using only the free characters without addressing what most players will realistically be doing - which is progressing through the game and collecting limited 5 stars along the way. to add to this, one thing i should've done as well is talk about the different archetypes like hypercarries, dots, follow-up attacks (which also led to me leaving out topaz even though she's currently the best pull for improving ratio teams) and this way the team suggestions are less generalized but again, thank you for sharing your thoughts and i'll spend more time making sure these gaps are filled in future videos

I wish you talked more about how to better manage the resources you're given as a F2P, getting 2 teams up and running for Pure ficition and MOC costs alot and it's crazy how much credit, trace material and ascension material you need for those 2 modes, let alone the grind you have to do for SU

I do think Guinaifen is better for Ratio then Asta, but I have some thoughts to share. just to be clear, Guinaifen's basic has the same 80% chance as Asta's trace it's just that Guinaifen's skill has 100% burn chance and has blast targeting (3 enemies) SP positive Guinaifen has to load up on extra effect hit rate, while many light cones in nihility do offer some effect hit, not all do. and her best option as support is honestly Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweet, which has no Effect Hit Rate so realistically slotting in some effect hit rate on asta isn't the worst option, heck you might even get a few sub stat rolls that add it anyways just looking for defense/speed for her anyways Asta also get's free Defense from her 3rd Major Trace, and since Guinafen is a wet noodle on defense whatever "defense" you wouldn't be putting on Asta can be swapped for Effect Hit if you really want to land that burn. Harmony also has some really, and I mean REALLY busted lightcones, like Battle isn't Over and Dance! Dance! Dance! and Memories of the Past/Meshing Cogs the one lightcone that's a major game changer for nihility is Before the Tutorial Mission Starts, which is seemingly no longer available (limited time items ARE STUPID, FIX THIS HOYOVERSE) at least add into the gacha or lightcone manifest

guinaifen definitely wants to be run on resolution shines if it's available not just for the additional debuff count but it's just cracked overall and i actually agree with you on possibly forcing ehr on asta beign a viable option if you need an extra debuff application - it's not like she really needs the extra tankiness thanks to her a6 i do hope in the future we have a way to access event light cones since they can be game changing for a lot of builds

Its honestly kinda crazy how dependant you are on having atleast a couple of 5 stars to do well in HSR endgame. This game doesn't really have any broken free permanent characters so there's heavy incentive to try to pull and get 5 stars. Genshin is a bit better in this particular area not only because there's just one mode of endgame to focus on but also because they already give you two broken teams for both sides of the abyss. A Xiangling team and a hyperbloom team. I remember Enviosity doing a bunch of spiral abyss clears with the free characters.

Lets agree to disagree Here. Yes it gets way easier with 5* chars but u are absolutely Not dependant in 5*. If u are f2p and pull in the right Banners and spend Ressources accordingly U get a Lot of eidolons for 4* chars and its absolutely more than possible to fully Beat/clear every Form of Content in the Game with Just 4* chars. Serval/Herta E6 with any Teams and the right builds can absolutely Carry Ur moc Runs and pure fiction. 4* in honkai Star rail are more than enough to clear the Game Not to mention that u Just can pull Just 2 Meta Supports and the Rest can be 4* and u clear every thing

At least from my point of view you dont need that. Normally i used to play with my dots composition (kafka, black swan, robin, and lynx (no huohuo ;( ), and in the second team i started to run, march 7, the harmony trialblazer, asta and gallagher and is working perfectly well. I know that dots could be a little p2w (i dont think so) but you have lots of different compositions and types of teams to work with. What i mean is that you can perfectly build good teams without a 5 star broken unit. And also, i dont know why people call, "save my jades to pull for a limited 5 star character" p2w. I just think that they cant save anything, and when time comes out they have nothing to pull for. Just that. Now lets go farming some jades ;)

@santiagovinoly6671 so true preach I am fully f2p and just cleared the new apoc Shadow on 12 stars without lingsha or super break i even have rappa but didnt use her cuz himeko does the job just fine. I have the old Premium fua team (ratio, aventurine,robin and topaz) all E0S1 and i have no ruan mei or sprakle and i do fine ppl just have massive skill issue

I just started last weekend, and ripped an E1 Welt who deals unconscionable amounts of damage compared to every other unit I’ve been using. But he also slows and imprisons, so I think he’s both damage and amplifier. Should I be running another damage or another amplifier? Edit: Yunli E1 does 10x the damage. Welt is now benched.

Wish I got Dr. Ratio for free 😭 The only two characters I have with Imaginary DMG are Yukong and I just got Harmony Trailblazer, I can't say trailblazer is bad or Yukong given that they do provide decent buffs, but DPS's with follow-up attacks are hard to come by, especially when it comes to imaginary typem

Wouldnt Dan heng be better for Dr Ratio. They have a lot of synergy He inflicts slow debuff Slow enemies Focused dmg on 1 elite/boss Both rely on speed Can both benefit from Astas speed and atk buff Asta will also burn enemies so Ratio will always have 3 debuffs (including his own debuff) And new planar set since theyre both hunt characters

Even if you didn't get these units for free, you pretty much need to pull at some point if you want to play endgame content comfortably. Star Rail is very generous compared to other gachas, I haven't spent a dollar and I have several 5-star DPS and support units. Granted I've been playing on and off since launch, so this advice is more so for newer players.
