Great content! We did the first two miles of the Kalulau Trail to the beach and you’re right- the views are absolutely phenomenal!! Best hike we have even done and looking forward to coming back (in better physical shape😜) to go on to the falls! Thank you for your time to crest this channel!!

OMG !!! Yes yes those mosquitoes are the worst lolol but I got some second skin spray which helps ..kauai is the best didnt hike much but driving randomly was really fun. Took lihue alternate route was very beautiful also

Thanks for the trails info. What hiking shoes/boots would you recommend especially for the muddy trail?

Hi Amanda! I use just high ankle boots since it can get slippery and I don't want to twist my ankle. I am usually the only person I see wearing actual hiking boots though - most people wear sneakers or some even climb barefoot! The most important thing is trying to scrub the bottom of your boots at the end to prevent the spread of Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death (ROD). It's a fungal disease found on island that kills ʻŌhiʻa.
