As someone who avoids spice, I really appreciate that you explained what your rating is based off. I find most people don't do that and it negates the reason for having a spice rating to begin with.

The cruel prince feels like more traditional farie stories, like the tricksters that people fear to upset. So if you like the more faire mythology it would be good for that.

In the latte case, I am somewhat imtimidated by the lengths of the books. I recently read Divine Rivals and loved it. It started Fourth Wing this morning

Similar to The Poppy War in terms of fantasy and war vibes is The Sword of Kaigen! Great book and gives off major Avatar: The Last Airbender vibes! No spice either for my no spice girlies :)
