Free birds is an interesting place, it was owned by two brothers, the original is in Santa Barbara Ca and hands down has one of the best burritos in the game. The other brother was greedy and wanted to franchise taking everything in a completely different direction. They are no way comparable. If you want the real deal go to the original in Isla Vista CA, small college town in Santa Barbara.

I’ve never thought the chips or the queso were too salty. Honestly think they are better than Chipotle. My order at Freebirds is a monster burrito with a spicy cayenne tortilla, green chili pork, cilantro lime rice, refried beans, Monterey jack cheese, cilantro, white onion, creamy jalapeno sauce, sour cream, and lime juice. It’s excellent.

Back in 2010 through 2012 my friends and I would go to this location every Wednesday after school (McKinney high). I’ve since moved out of state but one thing we learned was that if you got their nachos you’d get TONS of extra toppings in comparison to a similar price in burrito. I’m not sure what’s up with the queso you got that day but usually I really liked it and current chipotle queso is way too salty for me!
