bought this bike using your code and link and it shipped within 2 days and arrived just 1 day after the shipment, super happy with the bike. super high quality bike with amazing torque, i bought a crappy amazon scooter too try to ride to work and it couldnt tackle the hills around my area. But this nomad 1 is a best for its price. im a heavy dude and its so good. still not kind of confident to ride to work yet but with my tests im super happy with my purchase! all i need is to add some tire sealant and i should be good!

Just wanna say I bought two of these bikes for my wife and I based off your review. And man...they're sweet! The torque and acceleration is awesome. Plus they look really good (Indigo gray and Spring). I can confirm the brake/tail light is now integrated. Just a suggestion though, maybe you can include some videos on what child seats would fit on which bikes. Bike shops were telling me fat tires like the Nomad 1 can only use little trailers. But, after trying a bunch of different seats we realized the Burley Dash extended version fit perfectly. Just a suggestion for videos. I assume some people looking at these videos are going to be riding with they're little ones too

I found from experience that you need to keep the fat tires fairly hard 24 lbs. In order to avoid flats otherwise the soft fat area just raps itself over sticks and then they can push their way through . I got 2 flats at 18 lbs from small sticks.
@thetechgenie7374
@thetechgenie7374 Жыл бұрын
Yes you are correct I found two little and you can easily snake bite the inner tube from a curb or as you stated a stick. Keeping above 24 to 27 PSI and haven’t had anymore flats.
@bassw1758
@bassw1758 Жыл бұрын
Na, exact opposite, One flat since 2017, I started riding these bikes before we were putting motors on them, the walls of the tire used to say max 15PSI, only in recent years do you see 20 to 30 on the side wall On the e bike I go 10 in the front 12 to 14 in the back, good tires make all the difference though. I've gotten a flat once with these tires and I ride everywhere, no liners either, the only thing I do that probably doesn't do anything is I put a little bit of baby powder in the tire, keeps the tubes from sticking.
@thetechgenie7374
@thetechgenie7374 Жыл бұрын
@@bassw1758 In all fairness I did 700 miles on those CST tires before getting the first flat. The flat was ultimately pieces of glass when riding in the rain that didn’t notice. I ended up removing all the pieces and haven’t had a flat since. I think one small piece was stuck in the tire and didn’t poke through all the way first time and eventually did and that how I received the other flat that week. I put over 2500 miles on the innova tires on another bike at 27 PSI no flatout or liner and not a single flat. It all on the TPI rating on the tires, the higher the better as those are 60 TPI plus I use thicker inner tubes. I don’t like flat out products as throws tire out of balance at starting. Plus can affect the tire if leaks into tire making them spongy and soft instead. Higher PSI makes tires harder and less susceptible to flats. If they are low they contact ground more and can’t fling off debris. I only run lower PSI in winter time. In my MTB days always ran tire pressure low as off roading and need traction. You want a softer ride as well. On road and pavement, or race road bike it different, I run higher. Been riding bikes since early 90’s. Except winter I run low PSI.
@thetechgenie7374
@thetechgenie7374 Жыл бұрын
@@bassw1758 Yes good tires make a huge difference go by TPI more premium the way it woven is usually start at 50 TPI but 60 TPI plus is way to go. Those usually only need about 12 to 18 PSI if a fat tire. I used baby powder as well on inner tubes and yes does keep from sticking inside tire wall. They sure do this from factory. I even seen then shove in the inner tube incorrectly instead of filling air a little till it round and putting tube in tire evenly before seating bead on rim. From factory tube at time all twisted and etc and wonder why people get flat right away.

I just bought an Aventure 2 step through. It's pretty good, but it needs fix ups that the Nomad 1 has straight out of the box. Like: ergonomic bike grips, Adjustable bike stem for handle bars, Cloud 9 seat with a suspension post. One area often overlooked is trunk rack and bag. I had to rob my old Trek bike for its better trunk bag system. If Nomad supported Trek, Topeak or Ibera rack systems it would be nice. Also they had problems with batteries. Nomad didn't have the right battery color for spare battery while Aventon had their spare batteries on sale. If all batteries were black you would have a nice two tone effect and one color battery would serve all needs. Also, the bike is large so you don't feel like Crusty the Clown riding it.

Based on your review and especially the hill climb test, I decided to get the Velotric Nomad and my order is on its way. I also used your code for an extra $60 off the price. I really like the Wicked as well as I live in Oregon and we have a lot of hills here so hill climbing power will be important. I plan on using the bike to haul my clubs to the golf course. I was wondering if you have an “must have recommendations” for e-bike owners. Something like locks, tire repair kit in case you get a “spike in your tire”. Love to hear your thoughts on your experiences. Thanks so much. Keep up the good work.

I know it's hard to get great looks on a bike with integrated batteries when you get onto the 20ah range. Frames start getting wide and deep. Heavy.. But I'm sorry.. 20 ah is kind of what people want. I want to get 30 plus mph speeds also, like many want to have, at least on tap. So this bike with the bigger battery and higher top speeds would just be a big sales number plus! So why not make 2 of these and watch what bike sells more?. 30 plus mph 20 ah or the 27 mph with a smaller battery.. Companies like Ariel Rider and Wired know what's up. Fabulous With its powerful dual motors and big 60V batteries will continue to chomp away at others sales numbers with their affordable big boy bikes.

I like the performance review you did on this bike. I'm looking for my second eBike that can do hard pack dirt trails....nothing extreme or technical, just trails through wooded areas in CO and SD. My concern with this bike is that it doesn't have torque sensor technology. Everyone is telling me this is a game changer. I test rode an Aventon Aventure 2 and I noticed it required more effort pedaling up hill than my old school Cadence Rad Mini ST2 with the torque sensor technology. Is this a normal experience? Does this bike pedal easily without a lag? My Rad has a lag when approaching max speed in each pedal assist number. Love your videos, very informative and easy to follow.

thanks, rad rover 6 is weak compared to this, just rode it last week. adventure 2 will require more effort because it is a torque sensor, cadence sensors are better at making it easier to ride with less effort, but not as smooth with power delivery. hope this helps. is the throttle lag on the adventure 2 as bad as the adventure 1? there was a just throttle lag on that bike

@TailHappyTV
@TailHappyTV 10 ай бұрын
I mean they are very significantly different Bikes. The Juliette is an ultra long range e bike if you wanna do like 100 miles. The nomad one is more of a 40 mile Ebike, the weight difference in the batteries is huge and makes each one ride very different.

Hey Matt, I’ve been eyeing a bike on Amazon. It’s a Puckipuppy Flamingo (I know, the name is outrageous). Anyway, was just wondering if you’ve ever heard of this brand? Any impressions? I saw it on Amazon and for the price/specs, it’s really got me curious.

Have you ever had any of these fatbikes front tire squish back into the frame under hard braking? Mine rams into the frame and scrapes it every time I hit a bump or brake hard (Rize RX Pro). I've almost gone over the bars a couple of times lol. Definitely would never buy another one of those.

the paselec climber 3 had that issue. no matter how much I tightened the axle is seemed to slip under very hard braking, that's the only bike it's happened on.

If you don't like the throttle being limited to the pedal assist levels I feel sure there is a setting to change that. I would contact the seller to see if the know that setting.

I do because it accelerates quicker and climbs steep hills better, but the Aventon has a slightly higher top speed, but there is a huge lag on the thumb throttle which was super annoying

Say bro. Sry I haven't joined I don't have the funds..but I rented a bike. With a 36v 10amp battery they only had one charger it's a 54.6v max charger that is 2 amp.. how do I do the math to charge my 36v battery? Please help?
@TailHappyTV
@TailHappyTV 10 ай бұрын
Do not use that charger on that battery. A 54.6 v charger is for a 48v battery. A 42v charger will bring a 36v battery to max charge, anything more than that is very dangerous
@JasonKyler-f5m
@JasonKyler-f5m 10 ай бұрын
@@TailHappyTV is there a difference other than the max cut off? Like for example. Do they charge the same amount in an hour? I'm charging it outside, I need to ride it and can't afford a charger for another week

I know this video is old now, but I just got a puckipuppy boxer st and that bike is awesome. After you unlock it you can go 40mph pretty easily, just went 44.2 mph on it going downhill today and it's only a 750 w hub motor that peaks at 1000 w with a 48v 20ah battery. Also I'm 6 foot 4 and weight 240lbs so If I can go that fast on it I'm sure you could go faster. Not sure it has quite the torque that this one does but if you're looking for speed and something that's $1500 or less it's hard to beat the boxer.

Buyer beware!!!! Unfortunately mine came with a faulty control unit. The company responded slowly to my complaint but eventually sent a new control unit. With minimal instructions on how to swap it, the switch took much longer than should have. I would no longer recommend the Velotric bikes.
