@@dannymac6368 I believe it had something to do with the size of the exhaust. If you look closely to that model (2017 model), the exhaust is very narrow. So I believe it's due to the the fumes and sound waves getting compressed to extraordinary levels. The 2018 model had side exhausts and where considerably wider, so the sound it produced did not resemble the former car at all, but the funny thing is that it was actually louder than the 2017 model.

@@Vorgaloth Yeah. See what indycar did? They slowed down their cars (maybe a little too much) and now the racing is exciting again for them. F1 can slow the cars a little, make them lighter, remove DRS and all those electronic systems, and can go back to normal engines and as an option remove power steering.

All it needs is a hot swappable (free every scooter and e-bike) abd it would be ready for grandprix and endurance racing. If geared differently, it might do 400 kph in Baku and Mexico, let alone Nordschleife. The cornering Gs make it faster than Indycar and LMP1 probably. Lots of potential when a financier actually cares. Formula E is but a lame distraction and McMurtry knows it. And cares about racing tech.

It's much lighter and much more powerful, has way less drag and thanks to the fan great low speed downforce. All it lacks is width. Even the battery is larger I think. Way more capable, on paper, to do long stints at high pace. Might well beat a Formula E car over a 45 minute race, and an Indycar around a road course. It only needs a hot swappable battery and you have a concept for endurance racing and grandprix.

I have to come out and say it. While I love the highlight videos for Goodwood, the audio mixing and editing is all over the place. Some parts of the track have fantastic audio to hear the engine notes, other sections are either muted or hear random things in the background. Did we also need that extended footage of the stone wall? This is always a problem every year, come on guys sort it out!

I’ve been thinking this in every video I’ve seen of goodwood. I thought it was just me because I didn’t see anyone else pointing out, but the audio mixing is absolutely bizarre. Sometimes you’re stuck listening to the next car that’s lining up for the hill run revving it’s engine, while the car that you’re supposed to be hearing is already round the first corner and onto the straight.

I think for an amateur driver it's something that can make you look like a hero, but racing drivers don't like the variability. Either way I still believe that the 10+ years of development it's had so far mean that it's got some merits... otherwise they wouldn't be selling them that way.
