The best driving job goes to Mike Skinner in that big old NASCAR Truck that's as wide as the road! 2 wheel drive, 3500lbs, 800hp....no turbos, no crazy electronics, no road sensing all wheel drive and probably the worst aero dynamics out of all the vehicles!
@pawegawrzydek12627 жыл бұрын

The fact is, only three Alfa Romeo 308Cs have survived out of four made (one burned out in a race in 1938) and that the remaining two were now parts of museum collections. Meaning, this Alfa Romeo 308C is the only one still being raced. And that makes that flat out run even more impressive

@gro_skunk6 жыл бұрын
BadTrip they're still fast compared to modern vehicles.
@Regret6966 жыл бұрын
Well seeing as allot of the cars driven are classics and extremely costly to repair I can understand why they have a little bit of caution going up the hill. While on the other hand stuffing a nascar into the wall would set you back 10k maybe?
@Liamflynnphoto6 жыл бұрын
Sjon Hompiestompie a wrecked NASCAR car costs $150,000-$300,000 to rebuild and a brand new one costs around $200,000. With $10 grand you could get maybe half an engine.

Why do some of these old cars have positive camber?
@SVPSkins8 жыл бұрын
car dynamics had not really evolved into the well-understood understanding as it is now. With no real knowledge of weight transfer, etc. etc. ETC. it was considered positive camber was best as it got the inside of the tyre at the perfect angle when cornering. How ever the whole weight transfer thing was worked out, camber thrust, etc. etc. etc. so negative camber became the norm.
@czierwo8 жыл бұрын
I would rather say, that in old days, when the roads were crappy, positive camber was to make cars turn. Negative camber leaves gap under the outer edge of the tire and the road unless loaded. On a loose surface like gravel or snow the car would not turn...

regarding that final comment... The VW indeed only weighs double Heidfeld's F1 car while having less peak power. The VW has off the line traction and torque of course, and dependable ground effect downforce with good drag efficiency. Slightly underpowered, considering how close the 800kg heavier Nio got with otherwise similar drivetrain (double the power) and more understated aero though still very significant downforce.
