Coming from someone who grew up playing the franchise in its earlier days with family... SoulEdge/SoulBlade through Soulcalibur II, This IP really lost itself , starting with Soulcalibur III. The first biggest miss step was exclusively releasing it on PS2, rushing the game out before probably finishing it and much more. But starting what's so caliber for is when it became really bad. Things that the series was known for like unique costumes for every character, Lots of playable stages each with variations, Multiple single player and two player modes museum mode To view everything you have unlocked and used in game gold to purchase Awesome behind the scenes artwork, animated CG.I.Videos weapon demonstrations, and much more. SC IV nerved it, SCV said screw all of it. SC VI? It as a half-ass attempt. Character creation is Great, but when you start taking away franchise staples that was known since the beginning of the series just to keep adding on to one single feature? I genuinely love the series, Soulcalibur was always neglected compared to Tekken and SC VI made it more obvious then it already was. The lowest budget to work within the series. And even with all of the DLC.The game itself just feels unfinished compared to Tekken 7 which was given a much larger budget and more content overall. I'm glad that people really enjoy the character creation of this game. But the gameplay itself just feels like a rushed afterthought. ( Players aren't even given the freedom to disable mechanics like they were in past games) If we ever get anything more out of the soulcaliber franchise I will be genuinely shocked but very grateful. SC II - Best gameplay, replay value. SC III - Most characters and stages, with amazing soundtrack. SC VI - Great character creation, but a lackluster SC installment.

@@elusivenahwoo This is very insightful! Thank you for a bit more knowledge and history on the series. I was only able to come at this from a casual gamers perspective, so it's cool to get the thoughts and perspective of a bigger fan of the series as a whole. Thank you!

@@TactiTurtle (FYI, New phone sorry for the many grammar issues. There's some new fancy auto correction. Built into it and I don't know how to turn it off yet...ugh, I'm getting old, LOL.) No problem. I'm just a passionate nerd that loveds this series. So much so that it inspired me to take up martial arts and study history and various cultures! I felt your video was in-depth and interesting with how/why you've been staying with the game for so long. Too many just say: "Creation is fun." But it went out of your way to explain in detail as to why you appreciate all the features that was given into the mode itself. You're even went as far as to even give in depth looks through your characters. And provide things like backstory and whatnot. Almost like some sort of animation showcase. Definitely a unique way to approach your video's theam. 😁👍 Keep up the great work and good luck with all future videos.

@@TactiTurtle so far news on sc7 is grim. but I mostly wish they release the old games onto steam cause sc2 or sc1 multiplayer right now would be fun
