Vintage bags are also a great beginner bag! Usually made out of like pure leather so they hold up extremely well! Plus comes with some wear already so it's less worrisome for a first time luxury owner :)

Yes, and now the LV multi pouchette can be personalized. My first was the Alma. My father got me obsessed with bags. As a artist, he'd scour second hand stores. He paid $.50 usd. My first full price item was a Coach circle bag, then the pouchette, then the Prada.If it doesn't make you feel fabulous, walk on. There are so many options out there. Have fun

Loved this! My first designer bag was a vintage Dior clutch from the 80's, and I love that bag! Not a bag I use daily, but a bag that I treasure. Totally agree with you when it comes to loving the bag you are getting. Now I collect vintage Dior (have a few, but not that many), and I adore all of them. Most used bag are btw LV Speedy 25 in black leather and Alma BB in epi leather. Bags are fun, and should just be enjoyed :)

The speedy b is a good first bag. Most people (like me) got one as a teenager and have since grown their collection so that’s why they don’t use it as much anymore. I retired mine to a travel bag, still useful and super hard- wearing!

So my first bag was a Pallas BB purchased in Paris last summer in the Champs-Élysées store. What an amazing experience. I really didn’t know what I wanted. I knew I wanted monogram and cross body. My first Gucci was the that exact one except with the Gold GG Bees imprint. I absolutely love it!! I realize there are a lot of nice bags from Gucci but still nothing compares to how perfect this bag is! Although, the quality control at Gucci needs some help. The first bag I had received had bees that were not completely imprinted and I returned it for another and that one was perfect. Make sure you’re evaluating your bags thoroughly before use ladies n gents. I Love the LV MPA also!

Great picks! I too agree with the Chanel WOC; black caviar with ghw. Yes, it is not going to fit a whole lot. But it will hold the bare essentials, and look FABULOUS doing it. It can go from special occasion to t-shirt and jeans. And it is a fabulous travel and sightseeing bag because it can be worn crossbody and flat to the front of your body. I am actually wearing it in my profile picture (at the Louvre with my son last spring).

Great recommendations! The LV MPA is such an awesome bag for traveling (ease of finding passport and I-phone) and sleeping pills if needed for those long 13-14 hour flights! I love the LV MPA!! I admit when I first saw it, I was like, what is going on here?? Then I kept going back to it & finally bought it. It's the perfect bag for travel, I can use each one as a separate pouch in my carry on, or just pack it as my purse. While I know the Neverfull is EVERYWHERE, I'm not gonna stop using it as my carry on personal item because it's convenient as hell & ALL my stuff remains easily at my fingertips during flights. Plus, my Beis seat back organizer fits perfectly inside it so I can just toss it in and go after landing. Don't @me! 😂

I think the reason so many people go for the neverfull and speedy is because regardless of your body shape and size it always looks good. Where some of the other bags with chains and things are more a type of style that doesnt fit everyone

I hate that new CD crossbody. After the amazing resurgance of reissuing classic bags they need to come back with some true identity. It just looks too approachable and high street?? Just my opinion but if it wears well for people- go for it! Loved that Givenchy bag with the braided handle since you showed it in Harrods??
