I have a question guys.. I was watching a documentary a while back about Australia, I think it was "Bushtucker Man". He mentioned something about having to have a special pass to go past a certain point up there in the area you are in.. This documentary was made probably in the 1980's.. Is this something you would have to have?
@WildReaches4 жыл бұрын
That was probably into Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory and yes you still need a pass to get in there. Cape York where our latest series was filmed is based more on gaining permission from traditional owners to access untouched parts of the Cape. 👍🏻

I forgot to ask.. You mentioned that you would have liked to take an additional rod and reel for some lighter action, but it's hard to deal with an additional one in the bush.. How about a telescoping rod and reel that you could store in your pack for some ultralight options?
@WildReaches4 жыл бұрын
Hey Thomas, yeah great idea mate. I have Samurai 4 piece bait casters but nothing in spin. I’ll have to get onto that mate.
@thomasgistinger18854 жыл бұрын
@@WildReaches I have never used a telescoping rod, but I use a St. Croix Avid 6ft rod with a Shimano Stradic Spinning Reel using Berkley NanoFil 6lb line. here in Michigan for trout.. This rig is a beast and was able to land a 14# brown trout with it once.. I use bait casters for walleye here since we mostly jig for them. I love my Shimano reels, my choice for my bait casters is the Shimano Calcutta.. Lots of power and a fast retrieve..I am not that accurate when throwing a bait caster.. That is why I am impressed with you guys.. When you were pitching for that baramundi, you were putting it in the same place each cast.. If I tried a delicate cast like that I would have nothing but backlashes or ended up in those vines..
