New to this channel. I can't believe what I've been missing out on all this time...The fishing, the respect for traditional custodians, the fishing, the characters and the fishing. It's a dream of mine to get up there and fish some of these systems. Appreciate all the work you've put into these series and a true privilege to be allowed access to such pristine areas. Binging it all hard at the moment and absolutely loving it!

Totally cool guys. I re-tie more often than you do. I fish around barnacles. I check my line frequently, especially after catching a fish or on a snag. Yes, I am in the USA. It doesn't look like the fish would be bothered if you took extra time with the details. That fish would have still been there if you took the time to re-tie, don't you think? Yes I am second guessing, but with the best of intentions. Very cool vid.

I have a question guys.. I was watching a documentary a while back about Australia, I think it was "Bushtucker Man". He mentioned something about having to have a special pass to go past a certain point up there in the area you are in.. This documentary was made probably in the 1980's.. Is this something you would have to have?
@WildReaches
@WildReaches 3 жыл бұрын
That was probably into Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory and yes you still need a pass to get in there. Cape York where our latest series was filmed is based more on gaining permission from traditional owners to access untouched parts of the Cape. 👍🏻

I forgot to ask.. You mentioned that you would have liked to take an additional rod and reel for some lighter action, but it's hard to deal with an additional one in the bush.. How about a telescoping rod and reel that you could store in your pack for some ultralight options?

@thomasgistinger1885
@thomasgistinger1885 3 жыл бұрын
@@WildReaches I have never used a telescoping rod, but I use a St. Croix Avid 6ft rod with a Shimano Stradic Spinning Reel using Berkley NanoFil 6lb line. here in Michigan for trout.. This rig is a beast and was able to land a 14# brown trout with it once.. I use bait casters for walleye here since we mostly jig for them. I love my Shimano reels, my choice for my bait casters is the Shimano Calcutta.. Lots of power and a fast retrieve..I am not that accurate when throwing a bait caster.. That is why I am impressed with you guys.. When you were pitching for that baramundi, you were putting it in the same place each cast.. If I tried a delicate cast like that I would have nothing but backlashes or ended up in those vines..

@@WildReaches Used to try to do what you guys are doing, can't beat that rush mate, doesn't have to be monster fish, even the nice JP's make me smile. Sadly can't really do it much anymore because I got sick, but I'm trying to live vicariously through you and other great youtubers like Andy's Fishing. whenever I see your smile and the way you talk about it like in this video, I know exactly how it feels, no better feeling in the world than that. You guys are Champs keep up the good work.

@@choatus Hi Choatus, Hope ur doing ok. We have plenty more adventurous content to come so stick with us. Just dropped a teaser for our latest season. And youre right, that feeling of the hunt deep into the wilderness is the best.

Adds are what helps Nath and Dan fund our watching experience. I personally don't have a problem with them.
