Okay you are very deficient in nutrient. Go to a naturalpathy doctor get your intercellular blood work done. Hospitals won't do it and it will come out of your pocket, but you are describing everything I went thru for almost 5 yrs till a nurse slipped my husband a note saying what i'm saying to you....Go to a Natural path and get an Inter cellular blood test done. Hospital will only give you serum test and it only shows what you eaten in nutrients for the last day or so. You need to know what is actually in the Cells. I was so nutrient deficient that I was put on an IV full of tons of nutrients every 10 days for a year in half and about 3/4 the way thru I learned about the Lion Diet and saw even more improvements. I had just been on keto like you, and I was even having a hard time keeping any thing down. Except chicken slather in a fatty sauce I could eat it about every couple days and keep it down. Also Dr Ken Berry is who I followed to learn about the PHD and Elliot who is my hero! jGasstropareses is a bitch! But I can say after being Lion/Carnivore for about 2 yrs now, i'm actually starting to feel the gastropareses not being as active. So maybe it is healing also, which would be great cuz my doc said it was all down hill from there. Good luck hope you can get to the bottom of it, I know how sick your really are. Vitamin D is very important for your stomach if it under 65 to 85 i'd try upping it as well. I find my stomach does much better if I keep it between 75 and 85. If you don't get this fixed it gets a lot worse, I started to have symptom like seizures and lost the ability to stand or walk. I know can stand on my own and walk!

It apparently has the same impact as TTFD (in terms of its chemical properties). "Sulbutiamine is a disulfide derivative of thiamine." - Derrick Lonsdale
@IExpectedBSJustNotThisMuchBS3 жыл бұрын
@@TonyVega123 There's a link in this blog there's a "Benfotiamine and Lipothiamine" link. You can find out about sulbutiamine by clicking that link. Navigating Thiamine Supplements by Derrick Lonsdale MD, FACN, CNS - www.hormonesmatter.com/navigating-thiamine-supplements/ That link leads you to this bit of research in PubMed: Benfotiamine, a synthetic S-acyl thiamine derivative, has different mechanisms of action and a different pharmacological profile than lipid-soluble thiamine disulfide derivatives. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18549472/ "Our results show that, though benfotiamine strongly increases thiamine levels in blood and liver, it has no significant effect in the brain. This would explain why beneficial effects of benfotiamine have only been observed in peripheral tissues, while sulbutiamine, a lipid-soluble thiamine disulfide derivative, that increases thiamine derivatives in the brain as well as in cultured cells, acts as a central nervous system drug. We propose that benfotiamine only penetrates the cells after dephosphorylation by intestinal alkaline phosphatases. It then enters the bloodstream as S-benzoylthiamine that is converted to thiamine in erythrocytes and in the liver. Benfotiamine, an S-acyl derivative practically insoluble in organic solvents, should therefore be differentiated from truly lipid-soluble thiamine disulfide derivatives (allithiamine and the synthetic sulbutiamine and fursultiamine) with a different mechanism of absorption and different pharmacological properties."

What threw me a curve was Thiamine Mononitrate, It would raise my blood pressure 24 hours after ingesting it, and it would stay up a couple of days. It's in so many things, enriched flour, my vitamins. So if you have a problem with nitrates, you might want to check the labels for Thiamine Mononitrate. It really sucks not being able to eat the foods you love, or go out to eat with family or friends. I had to turn down pizza dinner the other night.

I can finally once again make a breakfast sandwich of toast, egg, cheese and a slice of un-cured ham with natures nitrates. And make a pizza. It costs more for the un-cured meats, and the bread. I have a kidney transplant that requires immunosuppression. These drugs seem to have compounded long term gut issues, malabsorption (maybe SIBO). It seems I will always be working to resolve previous issues and relieve intense symptoms as corticosteroids do a number on the gut (is it even possible to resolve my issues?). I consume a Carnivore-Keto diet which has been very helpful in relieving many symptoms, however, I watched you discussing how high fat may also prevent good absorption of thiamine. I do feel slightly better when taking b vitamins, but want to try higher doses of thiamine. Still trying to discern which thiamine is safest for me and at what dose. Having a transplant is amazing, but it is frustrating hearing my doctors express that my chronic fatigue, brain fog/confusion, etc., is just something I need to accept and live with. They simply will not help me figure out how to thrive with a transplant which seems so wasteful and sad, so here I am, years later, trying to make myself better on my own. Thank you for your information and research, Eliot. It is helpful.

Hi Cynthia, how are you doing now? I've taken a lot of immune suppressants too, mainly mycophenolate mofeteil, to suppress auto immune muscle condition. I have had the same gut issues, which stem from the way the suppressants work, by reducing red and white blood cell numbers and affecting at DNA level. Basically i could barely function. By reducing dose and suppelemting high vit D3 magnesium zinc and also taking milk thistle (many benefits) and taking lots of probiotics I've been able to get my gut back to working properly again. I've just started B1 hcl slowly at 50mg twice a day and its having a great effect. I hope you can reduce your suppressants in this way to help improve your quality of life. Also, my mother had only one kidney which was failing and she was able to keep it stable for many years by taking nano particle magnesium, ionic, by a company called good state. It allows magnesium to get through all the tiny blood vessels. See the magnesium miracle by Carolyn dean.

About a year ago, I started to have numbness in the toes. Medical doctor and naturopathic doctor that I consulted told me that it was due to a low B12. I adopted a ketogenic diet 4 months ago, eating a very clean diet (organic, grass fed, etc..). Also starting to include exercice in lifestyle. I took it upon myself to find the cause of peripheral neuropathy since the health professional that I am consulting have no other solution than B12. I have some TTFD! When I was young, I got a serious memory problem. I went to the library and prayed. Someone handed me a little book on memory pathology. I decided to try the cheapest and easiest solution. Bought a bottle of Thiamine from the drug store for under 3 bucks. Man did it work! I built up my memory over several years. Now I always have some around, just in case I see the signs. Can it heal my digestion? Do I need a high dose? For how long? I started taking this and have seen great improvement, but I cannot say it is the Thiamine, my neighbor's Korean beef, or one of a couple other things. My memory has been very sharp these days for years. I pay close attention to changes. Since just started taking TTFD at one per day, my lips feel like my level may be dropping. Is this because it is moving elsewhere and being used? Do I need a mega dose? How much is that? And for how long should one take it? I have known for 50 years that thiamine is essential for memory and heart, but now am starting to learn that it is important for so many other things. Thank you for making these videos.

B1 is very important to the gut. Diabetics should all be put on B1. B1 has many jobs in the stomach and one is to kick all the other b's into action with out it they can't work. B1 also has the responsiblity to clean up your body from all carbs entering it. Eat a lot of carb you B1 is most likely very low. Coffee destroys B1 in the stomach and depletes the body of salt. So always put salt in your coffee ;) Only need a pinch.

@thunderbird6777 Жыл бұрын
This quote is from an article written by Stuart Lindsey PharmD. He mentions what he took to help his neuropathy: "In 2005, a UK researcher named Paul Thornalley wrote a paper detailing how many diabetic symptoms are due to a deficiency of thiamine (B-1).[1] Elevated blood sugar promotes a type of toxicity in the kidneys that causes thiamine to be excreted by the kidney at a rate much higher (sixteen to twenty-five times higher) than normal, leading to an acute deficiency of thiamine. From other studies, it is known that deficiencies in all B vitamins, as well as vitamin C and D are common in diabetics.[2] This can cause most of the symptoms of type 2 diabetes, which include: polyneuropathy, nephropathy (kidney damage), retinopathy (eye damage) and eventually heart failure. This raises the question of whether the symptoms are from diabetes or acute beriberi? When I was diagnosed with type II diabetes, I immediately balked at taking the standard diabetic drugs. My doctor wanted to place me on statins, metformin and Byetta, all of which I refused to take. Having researched Dr. Thornalley's theory of diabetes being an acute thiamine deficiency, I started a regimen of vitamin and mineral supplements. Although the pain in my feet was quite severe, I wanted to avoid the regular drug regimen because it relied upon taking lots of pain killers that don't cure the problem. I reasoned that when the body's B vitamin levels are depleted due to high blood sugar, replenishing body stores through diet alone is difficult, so supplementation will be necessary. I started taking a dietary supplement of thiamine (benfotiamine, 250mg 4x/day). I also added of vitamin B-6 (250mg/day) and pyridoxal 5 phosphate (P5P, 100mg/day) magnesium (aspartate, citrate, malate, or chloride) and acetyl-l-carnitine (1000 mg/day) depending on the severity of my peripheral neuropathy symptoms. More recently I've learned of the importance of taking vitamin C to reduce inflammation and prevent oxidation from high blood sugar levels. My doctor did not approve of my self-treatment but was curious. I told him that I was willing to go back to the standard of care if this didn't work. "Positive factors for treating type 2 diabetes are magnesium, exercise, weight control, chromium, dietary fiber, the B-vitamins, vitamin E, vanadium, vitamin C, and complex carbohydrates. I have been using the positive factors for the past 40 years. When patients followed such a program, the results are very good." Abram Hoffer, MD, PhD The most overt of the neuropathy symptoms started to subside rapidly. Within a week, the shooting pains in my ankles were mostly gone. All of the other symptoms of numbness of the toes and overall pain of the feet including the "boot effect" (the feeling that you have your boots or socks on) were mostly gone in three weeks. Now I know this treatment may not be a cure for diabetes. But it is a valid and reasonably inexpensive way to control the symptoms, which are held at bay as long as you keep your thiamine levels high. If you quit taking thiamine and the other B vitamins, the symptoms come roaring back."
