@eddyecho2 жыл бұрын
yea amazing whats possible when the nba makes rules that make it impossible to play defense properly. But I guess people like to see stats and thats what brings in the bacon. Any real nba fan knows that you cant objectively compare these stats to players had in other eras. Kobe's 81 point game easily trumps both luka's and mitchell's game.
@ajhaywood85762 жыл бұрын
@eddyecho here's the thing. So nobody can play proper defense right? That means nobody can play proprr defense against anyone. Do you see anyone else other than the top top players in the league doing this? The talent level now is significantly higher than in any other era, and people neglect to see that because they are so worried about rule changes that affect the way the game is played. Now I am not going to disagree with you, kobe's 81 point game definitely trumps both Luka's and Donovan's games, but you need to take era into account and still see that these are 2 of the 10 most impressive games in NBA history despite lacking defense.

@eddyecho I'm not even disagreeing with you. I just said that nobody is being defended properly and they aren't putting up numbers like luka or donovan. I obviously know that it was much harder to score in the past, and I actually agree that Kobe's 81 point game was much more impressive. I never said I disagree only thing I said is that it's an unfair comparison because there is no legitimate way to compare eras. I just think it's interesting how they both put up over 90 overall numbers for 4th and 5th time since 79 that's all. Basically, we just haven't seen anyone else do this since defense got bad so I find it interesting that it happened two times in one week.

That... well... I'm in my 50s and been a rabid basketball player and fan literally my entire life and seen some incredible live basketball played at all levels. I watched Jordan live do things I didn't think would ever be repeated. I've watched Bird and Magic go head to head and just give a master-class in how the game is played. I've watched Stock and the Mailman just destroy defenses who knew EXACTLY what they were going to do but still couldn't even slow them down much less stop them. I watched Shaquille O'Neal bully 7 foot 250lb men like they were small children. I thought I had seen everything a man could do on a basketball court. I was wrong. I've never seen another player just be on an entirely different level than anyone around him quite like that. I remember the commercial with Scottie Pippen were he was having a dream that he was transported back to 1950s NBA and was just destroying everyone in his path. This was worse. It was like watching my HS Varsity playing 6' 4" son go up full speed against an 8 year old. Unreal just doesn't sum it up properly. I don't care about the 'team record' at this point. You watch that game and how can you possibly NOT vote Luka as the Most Valuable Player? How much more valuable to your team can you be than to put up that stat line AND lead your team back to a historic comeback win?
