My favorite detail of the trailer was the first glimpse of hyrule castle, having 3(4?) Notes from the classic Hyrule castle theme that immediately resolves into two notes from ganondorfs theme, its so subtle but packs so much detail

Even if you don't like BoTW, the game is drastically different from the main type of games in the franchise where it's not much of a sandbox and more like a type of metroidvania I guess? I think if you're not gonna give BoTW a shot, at least give Majora's Mask or Ocarina of Time a shot if you want to experience more of the franchise. That being said it's understandably not for everyone, I just thought it'd be worth mentioning!

Nope, Ocarina of time is good and Majoras Mask also, but you will notice how bad these game aged. IF you wanna play a classic Zelda title were the gameplay isn’t clumpy then play either Wind Waker, Twilight Princess or better Skyward Sword (because last one came out recently as HD port but on purpose. I guess Demise will return in Totk.) Oh, and if I haven’t mentioned it yet: Play Botw again.

@@JarumaruKnox Tbf I think all the zeldas are good, I think it's only aged in graphics since the gameplay is still fun imo (but maybe that's just me). I think it's just better to play OoT as a starting point and then just play any zelda you want. I'm not one to police here, though. (Also the DS games are also great, minish cap is suuper fun but has a slightly slow start imo)

I think where you're wrong (if you're wrong at all) is that the other trailers aren't garbage... they did exactly what they intended to do with them. This was the hype trailer. Those were just to keep the conversation going during development. I think they know their audience and the message they're trying to send.

You can argue it didn't matter since they had this trailer in their back pocket the whole time but if the point of a trailer is to get me to want to buy a game, those other trailers sucked. They could have kept the convo going with better trailers if they wanted to is all im saying.

Well to be honest I think Nintendo just figured out that the Zelda fans do the marketing for them (or they tested if it would work). The Zelda community is what sold the trailers, for someone who isn't in the zelda circle already they kinda suck.

I believe the music during the sequence of cuts starting around 1:30 in the trailer is the Ganon’s Tower/Castle theme, and I think that’s so awesome how far they’re leaning into the return of Ganondorf in this game. I’m so here for it too I can’t wait for this game to come out 🫠

It's that reversed choir that they put into the music sometimes that really gets me. Idk why but it just covers me in both excited and creeped out goosebumps. Plus it reminds me of the first game a bit.

What I also love is how the music at the second part is music we know and recognise, which starts to near it's end (we know it does because it's a well known theme) and then new (zonai) music does _something_ to it. It's like "oh no, we're not done here..." and it reverses or extends it by adding stuff to it until it harmonizes and it properly continues stronger and bigger than before. Which is amazing because it perfectly parallels what TotK is to BotW on a meta level.
