I'd recommend Slay the Princess! It's a short game but encourages replaying to see all the endings and twists and turns along the path. The whole game is lovingly hand drawn and beautiful/haunting in its imagery and the characters are satisfying to get to know with a small and focused cast where each interaction with them can matter.

Not sure how many people know these games, but two games I likes this year were Rain Code, a detective game by the people who made danganrompa (definitely butchered that spelling) and Cassette Beasts, a Pokemon-like game that is completely different to Pokemon.

Cassette Beasts deserves more mentioning. I found it accessible and well written and with depth in both mechanics and characters.

2:07 I, too, hail from the Mariokart Wii lands, having not really played any of the other Mariokart games, and am bias towards the Wii one. (I still prefer the way items felt in Wii for battles) 13:50 Wow, that sound design is really freaking good!

My top 3 for games I played during 2023 are: Splatoon 3, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, and Metroid Prime Remastered. Sparks of Hope is the one I recommend the most, especially if you like turn based tactical games. Honorable mentions include Pikmin 4, TotK, It Takes Two (which my sister and me played together), Tetris 99, and Terraria (which I started a modded playthrough of with my brother, a few months ago). Edit: also the MK8 Deluxe DLC.

FINALLY! Octopath 2 getting the love it deserves. Since it came out it’s been my favorite game of the year and nothing come close besides Baldurs Gate 3 which I started playing late December. It’s a truly great game and the perfect sequel to Octopath imo.

Tears of the Kingdom is a fair placement. I enjoyed it more than Breath of the Wild, but yeah, I agree that it felt kind of the same formula. My only other gripe was that there weren't that many references to the previous game, which felt so odd and confusing. It's almost like it never really happened at all.

I've played a lot of lethal company and hollow knight this year, but I really oughta get back to splatoon 3, it's been way too long. Your videos are great and it's very interesting to see your thoughts!

Splatoon 3 should get a 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 modes with special maps.

Freedom Planet and Freedom Planet 2 were good. Playing them, I had a blast.

I kind of just played Red Dead Undead Nightmare and Mario Wonder. But I’d recommend an extremely short game called Never Alone because it’s amazing in my opinion

My top 5 games of 2023. 5. Legend of Zelda Tears of the kingdom. minus points for reusing the map of breath of the wild but a great game overall. build your fun vehicles, weapons and maybe mechs. the shrines are also quite fun. 4. Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince. Using the monsters of the series as your own and quite a fun little story. 3. Super Mario Bros Wonder. Its a Mario platformer with fun new bosses, mechanics and the best part the elephant power up 2. Pokemon Violet the indigo disk. All starters, new evolutions and paradox entei and raikou and a great new region. 1. Hogwarts legacy. Great character custimization, amazing story, slick gameplay and an open world that makes you feel like you want to live there.

Top 3 games for me of 2023 are Elden Ring, Pokemon Violet, and Lies of P in that order. Elden Ring just always manages to just soak up so much of my time without me realizing it. Always so much to explore and play around with no matter how far in I get. Pokemon Violet was the top contender for the longest time until my online membership ran out and I didn't have the chance to renew it for a bit which put a bit of a halt on it for me since I just started to get more into the online play. I can pretty easily overlook the buggy nature of it because, well, I've literally not experienced 99% of the bugs I hear about being a "constant" problem. Even after about 10 different challenge playthroughs. Lastly, Lies of P was just a treat of a game. Went back to a pretty classic souls-like feel while modifying the formula in a way that it stands out and is accessible to to players regardless of their previous souls background, if any.

I would recommend you Honkai Impact 3 is similar to Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail but it is hack and slash and the story is better (it begins slow but the character development is much better in my opinion)

I would like to recommend Hogwarts legacy🧙‍♂️🧙‍♀️ it would be great if vasko could try on the sorting hat.😊 Immersive gameplay you won, t know till you,ve played it (I would also recommend paleo pines if you just want to chill with dinos and farm away) or there's always detective pikachu or better yet rain code.i,m enjoying these games so might you.
